Chapter Twenty-One | The Bomb Heard Around The World.

After Aurora had left Clarke's tent she went straight out of camp. She didn't even care about Grounder's as she moved, following no specific path. She didn't care where she ended up as she walked, she just knew she needed to be away from Bellamy and Clarke. She was too conflicted herself to answer the questions they obviously had. She had no answer for herself, let alone them. She kept trying to figure out what stopped her as she walked, but the more she thought about it, the more her head pounded. Eventually she gave up trying to rationalize her actions.

When she had finally stopped moving she looked around.

She found herself at the lake, the same one she had swam with Bellamy in. There was a small part of her that thought swimming now would make all her problems despite but she knew she was lying to herself. Sure, swimming would make her forget. It would ease her tension. But the second she got out of that calming water it would all rush back.

She saw no point in prolonging her issues.

She enjoyed the view though and moved to sit at the edge of the water. She pulled her socks and shoes off, rolling up the legs of her pants until they rested just under her knees. With her calves now exposed she sunk her legs into the water. She closed her eyes, leaning her head back as the cool touch of the water wrapped around her legs. It caressed the muscles lightly, eased the tension. Aurora herself even relaxed some.

When someone moved to stand behind her she sighed. She didn't open her eyes as she spoke. "Bellamy, I don't want to talk."

"It's not Bellamy."

Aurora's brows furrowed as she straightened up, glancing over her shoulder to see who had found her. She was surprised as she took in their face, mostly shocked that it wasn't Bellamy to begin with. Aurora arched a brow. "Octavia?"

The girl smiled, face dirty as she kicked off her own shoes and socks. The younger Blake then rolled her pants up and sat next to Aurora, smiling as she placed her legs into the water. Aurora watched her for a moment as she closed her eyes, cracking her neck. Octavia felt her stare, sighing as she met Aurora's eyes. "It's nice here."

Aurora wasn't buying the small talk as she narrowed her eyes, tense once again. "Did Bellamy send you?"

Octavia seemed confused at this. "Um, no."

Aurora's eyes narrowed further. "Did Clarke?"

"No one sent me." Octavia barked, rolling her eyes. "I just came here to relax and saw you. That's all."

Aurora sighed, rubbing her temples as she turned her eyes back to the water. She leaned back, using her hands as support as she studied the small waves. They all danced from the wind, water moving gracefully. Octavia cleared her throat with a frown as she stared at Aurora. "Is something wrong?"

"Why would something be wrong?" Aurora asked, voice a pitch higher than usual. Aurora kept her eyes on the moving water to avoid Octavia's intrusive eyes.

"You thought someone sent me here, Rory." Octavia's voice was filled with question. "And your here alone. I came here because I'm stressed about Bell."

"So?" Aurora shot back, scanning the clouds now. They were giant, white and puffy. They moved fast in the sky. It was the kind of clouds that looked like they were only miles above you, the kind of clouds you felt you could reach.

"You don't come to this lake alone... unless there's a problem." Octavia was blunt and Aurora enjoyed that about the girl. She was like Bellamy in almost every way. She wasn't afraid to hit you with the hard questions, and she didn't care if they were too personal or just flat out rude. But right now. Aurora just felt like she was talking to Bellamy and that was why she had come up here in the first place. She had wanted to avoid his bluntness, not endure it with his sister.
