"YOU GOT STUCK ON THE ROOF! AND WITH DR.KHAN!" Zahra barged into Huda's office. It was the day after the whole roof incident, Huda had gotten so busy with her patients and after her shift she had just gone home.
"Yeah, it was weird. Did you hear what happened?" Huda looked at her.
"Yeah, but I want every detail," Zahra said as she took a seat in front of Huda's desk unpacking her sandwich.
"Well, Jefferson made it past the staff and went to the roof, and unfortunately with the intention to end his life." Huda frowned.
"Oh." Zahra said
"When I got up there Dr. Khan was already there and he managed to talk Jeff out of it. The nurse took Jeff away, and Dr. Khan and I looked at each other for a quick second. When I turned around- the door closed, and I didn't have my badge to open it, and his wasn't working. Probably because he's new. Anways, we got stuck." Huda said taking a sip of water.
"So I panicked and cried a little. He was kind of mean. Since I didn't recognize him at first. He also kept this serious face the entire time."
"Oh really? Did you tell him you left for the emergency?"
"Yeah, and after a while, my legs started to give up because of the cold- so he gave me his coat." I pointed at the black coat on my desk.
"Awww, that's so sweet!" Zahra smiled.
"I know, maybe he's not so bad," Huda said, smiling.
"I have to return his coat to him today" she added.
"When are you going to do it?" Zahra asked.
"After my lunch break, I have a few appointments so after that I'll leave it in his office." Huda replied.
"Alright, also isn't he attractive?" Zahra smiled mischievously.
"Zahra! Astagfirullah." Huda blushed.
"Just a little," Huda almost inaudibly whispered.
Zahra laughed out loud.
"See I told you." she winked at her and got up.
"I have to go now, I'll see you later." Zahra said, grabbing her phone from the desk.
"Alright. Bye." Huda said.
Huda got up as well and grabbed her folder of reports. She left her office and went to go check on Samuel- one of her, new patients. Only a couple minutes later, she was down the stairs and into the ward.
"Good Morning, what is the problem today?"
"My knee hurts very bad, I can't walk I feel like something is stretching and it pains a lot." Samuel said.
"Okay, we're going to get you an X-ray right away," Huda said.
Huda checked his knee and saw the swelling, hints of purple and blue forming around the skin, she told the nurse to prepare the scan room.
Huda left the ward as the nurse took him away to perform his X-ray, as she filled in his information sheet.
The nurse came in with his results, and it was a torn knee ligament. Huda went to Samuel and his mother, to let them know surgery would have to be performed to fix his injury.
"We're going to have to perform a ligament repair surgery immediately to fix the torn ligament in his knee and avoid blood clots and further damage," She said.
Huda handed her some forms and the mother filled them out, and when she finished the nurse took them to the reception as Huda went to prepare for surgery.
