Today was Monday as well Adeel's nephrectomy so I was heading to the operation theatre.

This surgery wouldn't be a breeze as it would easily take me 5 to 6 hours. Our surgical plan was to remove his tumored kidney entirely and then continue with chemotherapy after surgery.

I made sure to get sleep last night as well as a good breakfast, and of course, I prayed 2 raqat asking for Adeel's health.

I prayed for a lot of my patients before going into surgery, It made me more confident to perform it because I knew I had Allah's help.

I finished cleansing my hands and walked into the theatre as the nurse put on my gloves. I usually performed and liked doing simple procedures because the more complicated the more stressful and unpretty.

Around five hours later, the surgery was over. I had removed the tumored kidney successfully and finished suturing him. By the end of it, my legs were sore and my eyes were tired. I walked out to the waiting area and spotted Adeel's mom and Mariam. They looked at me and got up worriedly.

"The surgery was a success, he had been transferred to another room and should wake up in a few hours," I informed them.

"Thank you!" Aunty said

"Do you have time sometime today?" Mariam asked me.

"I'll have to see, what for?" I asked

"I just wanted to talk to you about something over coffee,"

"I have to go to a meeting, and then do my rounds. When I'm free I'll drop by Adeel's room to see you." I said, hoping she'd understand.

"Sure," she said.

Today the interns were going to finally come in. I was pumped, It was going to be the first time I would teach.

I walked towards the conference room when I saw Ruth and Jacob in front of me holding hands.

Oh yeah! Jacob called me a few nights ago yelling that he "got Ruth".

I felt a tap on my shoulder and I turned to see Zahra, signaling her eyes toward the couple. We both slowly walked towards the couple.

"AHHH!" we both screamed from behind them.

When they both let go of each other backing up, holding their chests.

Zahra and I high-fived each other.

"I get the credit for this," I said pointing at them.

"Yes you do, come here," Jacob said coming towards me with his lips puckered and arms out.

"AYYY GO AWAY! GO AWAYYYY!" I squealed running from him.

The four of us entered the meeting area, a little professional and calm this time. We walked to stand in front of the seats, by the three other doctors and Dr. Khan standing in the middle.

"Jacob, switch with Huda," Ruth said.

"Why?" I looked at her.

Zahra and Ruth looked at each other, and then back at me creepily.

"Look who you'll stand next to."

"Look who you'll stand next to. Grow up." I mocked hiding my blushing face.

"No, no Huda for god's sake switch with me." Jacob pleaded, stopping us from walking.

"Why?" I asked looking at him extra confused, why does he care?
