I couldn't stop smiling at work today, my mood was exceptionally great. I wanted to give everyone kisses and skip through the hallways.

I went to the reception to turn in my reports, as the nurse looked at me with a smile.

"You're glowing today." She said.

"Ah, it's just my new highlighter," I said chuckling.

I was signing the bottom of some paper as Jacob came and handed the nurse a clipboard.

"Jacob, guess what!" I called.

He looked at me and with a serious expression turned back around walking away. What was the matter with him?

"Jacob?" I ran after him, standing in front of him with my arms out to stop him.

"What happened?" I asked

"I don't know why don't you ask your new husband, you didn't bother telling us about." He said trying to move past me.

I laughed at him.

"I don't have a husband! it's like a fiance but not really," I said not knowing how to explain to him what a "Rishta Paka" meant.

"Okay, s-" He started crossing his arms before an unknown voice cut him off.

"It's like a settlement that marriage is going to take place, but they haven't married yet."

We looked behind us, and it was Mariam- Adeel's sister.

"Right?" she asked smiling at me,

"Uh yeah, exactly. To be fair, It happened on Friday and I wanted to tell you in person." I said slightly pouting at Jacob.

"Fine, you owe me coffee though," Jacob said, his precious smile returning.

"So who's the lucky guy?" Mariam asked.

We both looked at her kind of awkwardly, she was probably just asking out of formality to strike up a conversation.

"Uh, he's a doctor," I said

"Oh wow, does he work here?" She continued.

"Uhh, yeah he does."

"Who-"

"HUDA!" Zahra's voice rang throughout the hallway.

I smiled looking behind Mariam, to see a jolly Zahra practically skipping her way to us.

"Zahra!" I said as we hugged tightly.

"I have so much to talk to you about,"

"When do you not?" Jacob intervened

"Shut up, Jacob."

I looked back and noticed Mariam had left, a wave of guilt went through me. We neglected her int the midst of our reunion.

"Shift starts in 35 minutes, I came early just for you." She said,

"Let's go down to the cafeteria," I said,

"Yay, It's girly time," Jacob said in a squeaky voice as he followed, but it wasn't too long until he received a smack from Zahra.

We walked down to the cafe and ordered some coffee, as I went through all the events from what I wore to what I said, and did.

When I was finished Zahra had a dreamy expression, as Jacob squinted his eyes at me.

"So Dr. Khan came over, you asked him some questions then said yes to the marriage, and smiled at each other," Jacob said, as Zahra scoffed and gaped at him.
