Ding! Ding!
Daylight from your open window seeped into your vision as you slowly opened your eyes, blinking away the remaining slumber. Your alarm hadn't even gone off yet, and yet you were receiving a call? Who would call you that early in the morning? You turned to the side in your bed and patted around for your phone, tapping the answer button and bringing the device to your ear.
"Hello?" you spoke groggily to whoever was on the other side of the line. You had been to tired to bother actually checking.
"(Y/N)-ah! It's Taehyung!" the male who had called spoke cheerfully, bringing you to wonder how he was possibly in such a good mood so early.
"Oh, hi Taehyung-oppa," you spoke again, your mind finally beginning to clear up as you awakened further. However, as you came to your senses, you noticed how peculiarly bright it was in your room. It was always still dark outside when you got up. "Wait, what time is it?"
"Um, about ten o'clock in the morning."
You froze. Your eyes finally made their way to the time displayed in small font at the top of your phone screen, which happened to present four ever so terrifying numbers.
10:07 AM.
"Oh shit."
With that, you flew out of bed, throwing your covers off of you in a panicked rush. You sprinted to the door leading to the rest of your house, nearly tripping over the half-off sock on your left foot. How could you have slept in, you triple-checked your alarm the night before!
"Yah, (Y/N)-ah?" a muffled voice resonated through your messy sheets, reminding you of the conversation you had previously been engaged in.
"Oh! Sorry, Taehyung-oppa!" you spoke, going back to retrieve your phone. "I'm gonna need you to hold on for a second, I won't hang up though, so just, uh, be quiet? I guess?"
After hearing his grunt of understanding, you began your sprint once more. You clumsily bounded through your house like a confused deer, desperately searching for one of your parental figures.
"Mom, help, I'm late!" You exclaimed upon seeing your mother in the kitchen. Despite your distressed tone, your mother seemed completely calm.
"Oh don't worry about that, I called your school already," she explained, casually taking a sip of her coffee. (Once again, sorry if your parents aren't actually like this, I'm just going with it for the sake of the plot. If you want to imagine a couple details differently for the sake of authenticity, then please feel free to do so.)
"W-what?" you breathed, your body beginning to feel tired again as the adrenaline from the situation gradually wore off.
"I could hear you talking to one of those BTS boys all night last night while you were studying. I know how schooling is around here, and going off of such little sleep isn't a good idea. So, I called in to your school and said you weren't feeling well this morning and would be arriving late."
You could have sworn you heard a light scoff emit from your phone at the mention of your conversation with Jungkook, but you ignored it and continued on.
"Oh... thanks," you told her, full tiredness setting in with the relief you felt. You put a hand to your head and leaned against the counter. After all, you had just woken up.
"The kids in my class are still gonna be giving me looks all day though, so I'll have to deal with that, plus the whispers when I walk by. It's funny how they think I can't hear it," you chuckled, finishing with a yawn.
