You were feeling antsy. You couldn't help but watch the minutes tick by on the clock as you waited for the school day to end. Generally you weren't so excited to go back to the BigHit building and wait around for the boys to finish their practice for the day, but things were different at the moment. You had a plan that day.
Once school was out you said your goodbyes to Kwak Jaekyu and rushed to get to your car. You wanted to try out your new plan so badly, it was all you could think about. At that point, you were so desperate to finally make progress with Yoongi and Hoseok that the mere possibility of your plan working out was enough to motivate you. You didn't have many options left, but you were really feeling good about this one.
As you felt the car come to a stop in front of the BigHit building, you almost jumped out of the vehicle. You threw out a quick "thanks, driver" before walking briskly into the familiar double doors. The receptionist didn't even bother telling you what room the boys were in, she knew you already knew. You sped over to the elevator, slamming your hand onto the "up" button as soon as you were within reach. As you waited for the lift to arrive, your excitement slowly began to dissipate, only to be replaced with fear. What if this plan didn't work, and you just ended up making a fool of yourself in front of them? What if you just ended up annoying them and making things worse? Acting like an angsty teen in front of them when you didn't actually know them was one thing, but now that you've lived with them for a while it was different. While you weren't gonna act completely different this time around, you were just gonna fake some confidence, you still feared that they would notice and think you were acting weird.
The elevator doors opened in front of you, beckoning for you to enter. Hesitantly, you stepped into it. You wished you hadn't started thinking of everything so much, you hadn't been so nervous before. Suddenly you were dreading putting this new plan into action.
'Stop it, you're overthinking things. You're not even doing much, you're literally just gonna channel a bit of your inner bitch and use it to start a conversation. It's not a big deal,' you thought to yourself, taking a deep breath in and out. It would be fine, you always thought you were a pretty good actress anyways, this was nothing! You were just gonna be more bold than normal. It's not some crazy personality change that they're all gonna judge you for. Besides, so what if they judge you? You're just trying to do your job, and that's what really matters.
'That's right, this is my job. I have to do this, otherwise what use am I? I can't let my nerves get in the way of helping people.'
With a ding, the elevator opened, and you cautiously exited. As you walked down the hallway to the familiar practice room, your pace seemed to get slower and slower, as if your body didn't want you to make it to your destination knowing that you had to do something that scared you. Even going snail speed, the walk still seemed too short. Before you knew it, you were standing in front of the door. You squeezed your eyes shut and took a few deep breaths. Still, you had no clue why you were so nervous, you just had to start some conversations, it wasn't supposed to be that difficult. Was it maybe because they were attractive older men with lots of fame and power? Surely not, that hadn't managed to get in your way yet, and you were sure it never would. You were really just overthinking things.
You placed your hand on the door handle and twisted it, bracing yourself for some sort of impact upon your entrance.
There was none.
The seven boys were diligently practicing their choreography, only barely acknowledging that you had even entered the room. You weren't sure what you expected, that's how things usually were when you walked in. For some reason you felt like walking into the room would cause some sort of huge disturbance and make a big scene, but that's never what happens. Your nerves had really just gotten to your head that much. With a slight sigh of relief about the lack of attention on you, you hurriedly made your way to your designated chair and began doing homework like you always do. Or at least that's what it looked like. You were unable to focus on any actual schoolwork at the time, so instead you started jotting down ways you could start a conversation with the two members you needed to make progress with. It was all in hopes that you would be better prepared when the time came for you to put things into motion, even though you knew you would probably forget everything when the time actually came.
