Playing Hard to Get

You wiped at your eyes, attempting to catch the tears before they dripped out. You hated crying in front of people, but you already had a feeling you wouldn't be able to contain it for much longer.

"(Y/N)-ah, I, uh," Yoongi cleared his throat, "I just wanted to say thank you. You've really helped us a lot."

You smiled solemnly at the male as you approached him, watching as he somewhat uncomfortably avoided your gaze. "It was my pleasure, Yoongi-oppa."

He took in a sharp breath through his nose. Then, he chuckled slightly before shuffling his hair and then looking up at the sky, blinking sporadically. You also chuckled in a melancholy manner, somewhat amused by your mutual attempts to fight back your tears. Suddenly, he stepped forward and wrapped his arms around you tightly. His action took you by surprise, but you reciprocated the embrace. His hold on you was strong, and surprisingly filled with emotion. You heard him sniffle by your ear.

"Ah, you'll have to remember to send me drama recommendations now and then," he whispered, attempting a lighthearted tone. You giggled at his words.

"Remind me now and then and I'll be sure to do so," you joked along. Both of you pulled away from the hug, blinking tears away and trying your best to smile. Wordlessly, Yoongi nodded at you, and with a pat on your shoulder, he stepped away.

He cleared his throat again, and with a stronger voice than before, he said; "We'll miss you, (Y/N)-ah."

You sighed, a rogue tear finally managing to slide down your cheek. However, your small smile didn't falter.

     "I'll miss you too."

Your eyes shot open, and you already knew that you'd need to dry your face. It was that dream again. For quite some time you had managed to sleep well without it, but for some reason the past few days it had been creeping up on you again. You had been back at the bangtan dorm for a couple weeks, so maybe that was part of what triggered it.

You sat up in your bed and placed your head in your palms. Waking up from an upsetting dream was never a pleasant experience, it made it hard to go back to sleep afterwards. Maybe if you were lucky it was close enough to morning for you to just get up and start getting ready for school. Of course, the idea of waking up a couple minutes before your alarm (Jin) decided to tear you out of your slumber wasn't appealing either, but you hardly felt like sleeping again. There was still a deep sadness lingering in your chest after the peculiar recurring dream, and that made you not want to sleep. So, you dried your eyes, and grabbed your phone to check the time.

     "4:33"

Great, so you had a half an hour. You were unsure of whether you should just get up or try going back to sleep. After all, you hadn't gotten much sleep the night before due to an extra load of homework. However, you had also already been awake for a few minutes, and your grip on sleepiness was gradually weakening.

"Ugh, screw it. I'm thirsty anyways," you thought to yourself, and you then proceeded to drag yourself out of the warmth of your comforter.

As quietly as you could, you shuffled down the hallway and towards the kitchen in search of liquids. However, you were instead met by another person, seemingly in search of the same thing as you. He had his back to you, reaching up into the cupboard to grab a cup. You wouldn't have been able to tell who he was if not for the slightest bit of light reflecting off of his bright red hair. It was Hoseok.
