December. Cold, unforgiving, and oh so lonely.
That's right. It was December. The time some deemed the "most wonderful time of the year." For you? Not so much.
The Bangtan boys had left you occasionally while you were there, they had tons of interviews and performances to keep up with after all, especially considering they had just released an album in September. However, you were hit with a curve ball when the boys left for the Japan branch of their tour. Not only did Big Hit manage to leave you completely uninformed about that event, but they also forgot to tell you that you would be leaving as well.
No, not to Japan with the boys.
You were going back home. Back to live with your family.
It was only temporary of course, it wasn't like your days with the boys were over- you had much more to do before you could even think about leaving them. However, while they were away in Japan, you would be living in your old home again. Which meant returning to your family from late November to late December. The Bangtan Boys wouldn't be back until just a few days before Christmas. Even then, they were going to be busy most of the time. At first, you didn't realize their schedules were quite so packed. It seemed that some of their business had been been delayed with your arrival since Bang PDnim wanted you to get settled in, as well as for the boys to get used to you being around. However, some events could not be put off. Events like their tour.
When you were first told that they would be leaving to Japan and you would be going home, you were glad you would get to see your family. However, when the boys were suddenly whisked away without so much as even saying goodbye to you, you were left feeling a little bit hurt. Although you weren't close with all of them, going back to the dorm to pack and seeing it so empty felt wrong. You couldn't help but wish you had at least gotten to say bye. It felt incomplete, like getting woken up by someone tearing your blanket off of your body. Their dorm was still the same mess that it always was; there was trash littering the floor, the shoe cabinet had formulated its own eco-system, and there were unattended dishes in the sink that Jin had probably abandoned at some point after deciding someone else should do them for once. The thing was, It was all wrong without the boys there. So while the dorm looked lived in, it felt more like a ghost town.
That all happened back in November when the boys first left, though. It was currently early December, and since the boys left, you hadn't heard from a single one of them. Not that you really expected to, they surely had better things to be doing, but you couldn't deny that you hoped you would receive some sort of acknowledgment that they still remembered you existed. Unfortunately, you might have just had to wait until they came back.
At the moment, you were trudging your way to school, cheeks numb and hands stinging. You had almost forgotten how cold it could be at six in the morning, but life decided to remind you every day when you stepped outside. Since your house was closer to your school than Bangtan's dorm was, you walked every morning. It was the same routine every day: you got up, got dressed, ate breakfast, put on the ugly coat your parents forced you to wear "because it's cold outside," and left the house. Sure, you had a routine at the dorm too, but it was so much different. Having that many people around was so much more energizing and lively, even though most of the boys didn't talk to each other much half the time. Heck, some of them didn't even like you that much, but for some reason you still enjoyed being around them. Something about those boys just made life more interesting. However, since they were gone, your life went back to normal, and you couldn't say you preferred it that way.
You sighed deeply, admiring the cloud that left your lips due to the temperature. A gust of wind blew through you, causing goose bumps to raise up on your exposed legs. As much as you liked to think you were invincible to the cold, you really weren't, and at times you were a little glad that your parents made you wear that stupid coat. It was big, black, and horribly boxy- the type of coat that really didn't look good on anyone. You thought it made you look like a goth popsicle, and you frequently requested that your parents let you get a new one, but they never agreed. It always made you a little bit mad, because you really didn't ask a whole lot, you weren't bratty, but the one thing you genuinely requested they denied you. You tried not to let it get on your nerves though, it was just a coat after all.
