"Alright, I'll trust you. What's your request?"

Your face lit up at Hoseok's response.

"Really? Okay, um- I understand if it's just not something you think you can do, and I'll totally be fine if-"

"Just get on with it," he chuckled, rolling his eyes at your rambling.

"Sorry," you squeezed the hem of your skirt as your cheeks flushed slightly in embarrassment. "To put it as simply as possible, my request is for you to try and act more cheerful during practices."

Once again, Hoseok cocked an eyebrow up at you. You cringed slightly at the way it came out of your mouth. Desperately, you began trying to explain yourself.

"You see, I just think it could help all of you. You're obviously kind of the one in charge when it comes to dance practices, so I think your mood effects everyone else the most. I've heard you used to be a really cheerful person, and I've seen it shining through on occasion, so I think you really have the ability to bring everybody's spirits back up. Obviously I don't expect you to magically be super happy all the time again, but if you could pretend just a little I think it would have an impact! Fake it 'til you make it, you know?" you rambled again, hoping that your explanation had made even a tiny bit of sense.

"So... you want me to pretend to be super happy and energetic and stuff... so we'll practice better?" he questioned with a somewhat skeptical look. When he put it that way it sounded like it would be so much less effective, but then again, you were unable give him all of the information he would need in order to really understand.

"Well, there's a lot more to it than that, but I already told you I can't really give you all the details. Anyways, you already said that you would trust me, so please just give me the benefit of the doubt here, and tell me: will you help me?" you responded, prompting a final answer. Hoseok looked away from you in thought, pursing his lips tightly as he fiddled with the snack he got from the vending machine in his right hand.

Acting more cheerful than he actually felt would be much easier said than done. It would be incredibly difficult on the harder days, and he wasn't sure if he would really be able to pull it off. However, you had made it sound like it would benefit the whole group, not just you or him. Maybe it really was something bigger, and like you had said, you just couldn't tell him. Remembering that he already decided to trust you, even if you couldn't give him all the information, he made his decision.

"Okay, I'll do it," he proclaimed. "Or at least I'll try, I don't know if I can always keep up an act, but I'll do what I can. Let's just hope this actually works."

You let out a joyful gasp, a smile plastering itself to your face. "Thank you Hoseok-ssi! I really do think this will make a difference, bigger than you may realize," you exclaimed excitedly, bowing out of gratitude. Hoseok couldn't help but chuckle at your reaction. He lightly shuffled your hair (unless you don't got none, then he just patted your shoulder or something) and began walking to exit the break room. You followed, realizing you had one last thing you wanted to tell him.

"Oh, Hoseok-ssi, I just wanted to say that you don't have to suddenly act completely different. You can work into it gradually, start small if that would make it easier. And also, I'm going to do the best I can to keep everybody's spirits up when you guys are on breaks, so you're not gonna be alone in this. I just really think that you'd be the best one for the job," you explained. You wanted to make sure he knew that it wasn't going to be all him, you would be helping as well. Not all of the weight was on his shoulders.
