"I'm gonna need you to hold on for a second, I won't hang up though, so just, uh, be quiet? I guess?"
Oh how Taehyung missed the sound of your voice. As you spoke with your mother on the other end of the line, the man sat criss-cross applesauce with a small, pleasant smile on his face. That was, until he heard your mother bring up the very topic that had started his day off badly in the first place.
"I could hear you talking to one of those BTS boys all night last night while you were studying. I know how schooling is around here, and going off of such little sleep isn't a good idea. So, I called in to your school and said you weren't feeling well this morning and would be arriving late," your mother's muffled voice sounded through the phone.
At that, the smile on his face immediately morphed into a grimace, and he couldn't contain the scoff that left his lips. Taehyung had almost forgotten his two band mates were also in the room with him, but at the indirect mention of Jungkook, he was able to remember quickly. He shot the younger male a glare, to which Jungkook responded with a look of guilt.
Although he had hardly done anything wrong, Taehyung had managed to make Jungkook feel absolutely terrible about calling you without telling anyone else. The guilt he felt threw him back to the times before you came around. As the youngest member, he often ended up taking the blame for things that were out of his control. Dishes didn't get cleaned? His fault. Somebody within a five-meter radius of him broke something? His fault, and he had to clean it up. Before you came around to take the worst of it (aka Namjoon), Jungkook was the one who was always in the wrong. He constantly received the judgemental glares of his older members, and with his undying need to strive to be the best he can be, he began doing whatever he could to prevent his members' disapproval. Perhaps that was why he had a habit of cleaning and rearranging things when in a state of panic.
As Taehyung waited patiently for you to finish talking to your mother and continue your conversation with him, and Jungkook stood silently in guilt, Jimin sat quietly with a racing mind. Being separated from you had taken its toll on him as well, surprisingly enough. Much unlike his usual self, the man had became jittery, and his mind was especially littered with fleeting thoughts of you and what was going on in your life. It was like his brain was being suffocated; all he could seem to think about was you, where you were, what you were doing, how you felt, whether or not you were okay. What made it worse is that no matter what Jimin couldn't seem to understand it. He hated the fact that all he seemed to do anymore was bombard himself with more and more questions every day he lived on. It was freaking him out if he were honest, there hadn't been a time he could remember in which his mind was so occupied by one specific topic. He was constantly asking himself, what were you doing to him? Why couldn't he stop thinking about you? And most frequently, why did he feel the way he did? Why was he feeling so much confusion and muddled emotions towards you? Why was he beginning to feel so much concern over you, and why had he been so anxiously awaiting to come in contact with you again?
Jimin couldn't answer a single one of those questions. All he knew, is that when he heard your voice through the phone when Taehyung called you, every ounce of his attention was on nothing but just that. You. Your voice. Whatever you had to say. He couldn't even bring himself to notice the distraught look on Jungkook's face.
When you returned to your room and continued talking to Taehyung, Jimin and Jungkook stood silently by the doorway, afraid Taehyung would lash out if they moved any farther.
"I miss you so much, (Y/N)-ah! It's unbearable to live without you!" Taehyung exclaimed.
"I miss her too," was the thought that immediately crossed Jimin's mind, causing him to furrow his brows at himself briefly before ignoring the thought and continuing to listen to the conversation.
