"I see you've made yourself comfortable."
You had just entered your room, only to see that Jungkook was already there waiting for you. The boy had flopped himself onto your bed and arranged himself into a position where he could relax and play on his phone.
"It's a nice bed, we should trade," he chuckled, causing you to giggle as well.
"Sure, you wish," you responded, sitting yourself at the end of the bed.
"Fine," Jungkook said, shutting off his phone and tossing it beside him. He then put his hands behind his head and closed his eyes. "I'll just sleep here then."
"Jeon Jungkook, I will beat you up," you threatened. Luckily for you, he never demanded that you respect him, otherwise you would be in a lot of trouble for some of the things you said to him. Things like "Jeon Jungkook, I will beat you up."
"Is it a good or bad thing that I don't doubt that?" he responded jokingly, obviously alluding to your brute strength from earlier in the day, if you could call it that. You just rolled your eyes, as he sat up and scooted next to you.
"It was quite a mess earlier today, I'm sorry you had to come back to that," Jungkook spoke again, taking on a much more solemn tone. He genuinely felt bad about it. Most kids would go home to their loving families and homey, familiar environment where they felt comfortable. You already had to come home to seven fairly unfamiliar men, a new house, and a cluttered schedule, so coming back to the disaster you had witnessed must have made your experience that much worse.
"Don't worry Jungkook-ah, it's no big deal," you told him, reaching under your bed to grab your journal.
"It's a huge deal! You could have gotten hurt!" he exclaimed incredulously, "... Why would you do that for me?"
You sighed. "Maybe I could have gotten hurt, but it was too much for me to see you in so much pain. I didn't want you to deal with that anymore. I decided that I'd rather trust myself and take a risk than see you continue to be damaged," you explained, looking him sternly in the eyes. It was the first time you had really said anything to him that expressed how much you actually cared.
Needless to say, Jungkook's heart was exploding.
The boy felt like jumping with joy, and his heart swelled. He couldn't contain his happiness as a smile grew on his lips. A warm, fuzzy feeling invaded his entire being, and all he could think about was how appreciative of you he was. You risked your own safety because you didn't want to see him unhappy. It had been a while since someone had shown that they cared about him that much.
"Thank you, (Y/N)-ah, I-I really can't explain how happy that makes me," he spoke, looking at you with soft eyes and a sincere smile.
"Jimin-oppa is the one you should be thanking, he did a lot of the work by getting you out of there," you responded with a slight chuckle at the giddy boy's expression. You started to log the day's events in your journal.
"I know, but what you did is important too," he bit his lip and twiddled his thumbs a bit. "You know, I talked with Jimin-hyung last night."
"Really? When was that?" you questioned. When you and Jimin returned from the roof, you went straight to your bed, and fell asleep pretty quickly. All you knew was that Jungkook was still playing video games when you probably fell asleep, so you were unsure if he had visited you or not. Either way, you were asleep when it would have happened.
"Well, I went to your room last night, but you were already asleep, so I turned your light off for you, and Jimin stopped me in the hallway before I went back to my room. He said that... you told him everything."
