Leo gave a small shake of his head, letting out a sigh. "Sara.. I don't think it was a good idea to get more people involved." Sara narrowed her eyes, glancing at Leo from across the table. The two of them had gone out for the evening. For a dinner. Since once again, Abby and Lisa were over at a friend's house. And since it seemed Leo was his old normal self for the time being, they wanted to take advantage of that moment. "Why not?" She asked. "Don't you want to get this figured out? So we can.. Go back to normal?" It was part of the reason why when she and Leonard started becoming closer, and after their wedding. Sara had chosen to agree to step off the waverider with Leo. Because they wanted to start a family, and they both thought that being on the waverider going on missions was no way to start raising kids. For it would be dangerous for them living on the ship. And Sara also wanted to have somewhat of a normal life back.
A small smile formed on Leo's lips at Sara's question. She glanced down at their hands as she felt his hand wrap around hers. Then looked back up into Leo's eyes. "Of course I do. You know I do Sara.. It's just.." Sara kept watch on him closely. "What?" She asked. Leo remained quiet at the question. And for a moment, Sara feared he was going to shut down on her again. "I don't know who is behind this. And I worry if we add more people to the mix. They will be in danger. Whoever, whatever is doing this to me. Knows what they are doing. And if they're watching my every move. They will know by now the others are trying to help. And I can't have anyone getting hurt because of me."
Sara took a deep breath, closing her eyes then opening them again. Giving Leo's hand a gentle squeeze. "I won't let any of them get hurt. Mick is keeping a close watch on things. He will fill me in if anything comes up. We will figure this out.. Together.. Just like we always do." Leo gave her hand a small squeeze back. "I sure hope you're right. I already fear, I've put you in danger by telling you. Which was another reason I kept quiet in all this. But I could see what the secret was doing.. To us.. So I had no choice.. Because I don't want to lose you." He said quietly. "Lisa.. Is already in danger for being curious."
At those words, Sara's fear kicked in. She didn't like the sound of that. And the bad thing was, they didn't know who was after Leo. So she'd have no way of stopping them. As Sara's eyes flashed, Leo could see he'd made a mistake. "Hey.. I'm not ever going to let anyone get to Lisa.. Or Abby.. Ever.. You have my word on that." He whispered. Leo took a deep breath as he felt Sara's hand squeezing his a little tighter than usual. And he knew the look. From the other day, a hint of her bloodlust was kicking in.
"Sara.. Hey.. Come back to me.. Alright? Focus on my voice.." He kept his tone quiet. "And how can you be so sure of that Leo? We don't even know what's going on. If it's something or someone.. Messing with your mind. How can we protect our daughters from whatever this is? If we don't know what or who we are dealing with?" Sara began rambling out of fear.
Leonard took a deep breath. Slowly standing up before walking over to Sara. "Come on.. Lets go dance." Sara closed her eyes feeling tears flow down her face at the thought of losing her daughters and Leo. Opening them again to look up at her husband when she felt his finger brush some of the tears away.
"Come on.." His hand was still wrapped around hers. Sara took a deep breath before nodding and standing up. Letting Leo lead her out to the dance floor. As his hand stayed wrapped around hers, his other hand slipped around her waist. She managed a small smile feeling him pull her close towards him. Closing her eyes and resting her head against his chest as they began swaying along to the music. As Sara focused on Leo's heartbeat, it seemed to calm her down, as it always did.
"I missed this." Sara whispered. After it'd been silent for awhile. "I miss us." She looked up to look straight into Leo's eyes as she felt him hug her tighter. "I know.. And I do too. And I'm so sorry.. I let it get this bad. I didn't mean for things to get like this. I hadn't meant to push you away. Because.. I love you, and I don't want to ever lose you. Any of you." Sara kept her eyes on Leo. She could see he was afraid. Even though he always tried not to show it. "I don't know what's happening to me Sara. And I'm afraid whatever is going on.. I'll only lose you in the end. I almost did.. By keeping such a secret.."
Before Leo could finish, he felt Sara's finger rest against his lips, to quiet him. "You won't ever lose me.. Because I love you too. And we're in this together remember? We're in this for the long haul. For good and for bad.. That's what our vows stated.." Sara could feel Leo's grip on her tighten, as if he was afraid if he let her go, she'd be gone for good.
Leo managed a small smile glancing down at Sara, as they continued finishing dancing along to the song. Once again, just like he calmed Sara down, she helped him get calmed down as well. "Besides.. I know you don't like to go in without a full detailed plan. But I think I might have an idea. Of who we can look into."
Leo looked at Sara with curiosity. And though he was anxious to get this all done and over with. So he and Sara could get back to normal. He also had wanted this to be a nice evening out. An evening without so much worry. "Hey.. Let's forget about that for now. These problems will still be here tomorrow. Tonight.. Let's just try to relax the rest of the evening. And enjoy being out." Sara smiled. "I think I'd like that."
They had been working on theories for the last few hours. Since Sara left the ship and spoke with Ray and Mick. And everything they came up with, was making her head spin. She needed a break. But she was also anxious to get this done and over with. She wanted her life back. She wanted her Leo back.
Leonard smirked as a sudden thought came to him. "You can tell me your next theory tomorrow." Sara raised her eye as she saw Leo's smirk and then felt him slowly lean in closer to her. "Now.. Why don't you say you and I get out of here." He whispered into her ear. Sara could feel her heart race at the closeness. It had been awhile since they'd been this close.
Sara nodded in agreement. After Leo paid for the dinner. He made his exit out of the restaurant with Sara following. Both of them taking the advantage of having the house to themselves.
