Chapter 20: Making Contact

It had been a couple of weeks since Sara and Leo had asked Gideon to send someone to contact if they learned of anything of Rip's whereabouts. But so far there was no word. Which concerned the two greatly. One thing that was able to ease their mind however, was that Mick managed to come into contact with the two of them. Stating that they were away on a mission. That took them some time to sort out.

But the real reason was, Gideon managed to find a piece of information on Rip. And with what she found, had the team members curious. Since none of them were quite sure yet what to think of the information that came to light. They decided to wait a little before letting Sara and Leo know. As they wanted to make sure what Gideon found, was real before letting their old team members know.

Leo and Sara had been sitting at the kitchen table, chatting quietly about Rip's situation. While Abby and Lisa were in their rooms playing. When they heard a knock at the door. Leo and Sara both gave each other a look. "I'll get that." Leo stood up and made his way towards the door. Almost hoping that it was Rip. But when he opened the door it was Mick. Leo gave him a small grin. "Mick, come on in." He said in his usual tone stepping aside for his old partner to enter the house.

"Did you find anything?" Sara asked, standing up as Mick made his way into their home. Mick rolled his eyes. "Don't I even get a hello first?" He questioned. Sara smirked a bit. "Hello Mick.. Did you find anything on Rip?" She asked. Mick gave Sara a small smirk back. "Ha ha.." He mumbled.

"Yes.. We did manage to think we found something. Where Rip might have been the whole time. And why we haven't been able to really contact him." Sara looked at Mick closely. She turned her head towards down the hall where the two girl's rooms were then turned back to face Mick. "Let's go someplace so we can't be overheard by the girls." She muttered. Mick nodded then the three of them made their way outside into the garage.

"I'm not exactly sure what Rip is expecting to find. But the location we last tracked him, can't be a good sign." Mick stated. Leo could see a hint of worry in Mick's expression as he took a sideways glance towards him. Leo narrowed his eyes at this comment. "Where did you last locate Rip?" He questioned. "I don't suppose you're aware of the multi world verse theory?" Mick asked. As he spotted the confused looks Sara and Leo exchanged with each other, they answered his question.

"Multi worlds?" Sara questioned. "Well.. We have been out of the time traveling loop for awhile.. How long has this been known?" She asked. Mick looked a bit hesitant. "About a year. Shortly after you guys came back. After the time bureau incident. Apparently there's many other earths out there. Cisco from Star Labs.. We went to Star City to ask him if he could figure out a way to somehow track Rip. And once he tracked where Rip had been. He revealed about this theory. They had known about this for awhile. But we only just found out about this a few weeks ago, during our visit to the lab."

Sara remained quiet for a moment. "Hold on.. A few weeks ago?" Sara asked. Suddenly feeling a little annoyed Mick hadn't come sooner. Mick sighed noticing Sara's expression. "Look, we wanted to be sure about all of this.." He stated slowly.

Before Mick could explain any further however. A faded figure of Rip suddenly appeared next to them. Sara's eyes grew a bit wide as Rip suddenly appeared before them. "Rip!" She exclaimed. A bit surprised to see him suddenly appear, but also looked relieved that he was at least okay. Or appeared to be okay. Even if it was just an image of Rip appearing to bring a message.

"Impeccable timing.." Mick grumbled. Rip turned his head, a small grin formed at Mick's words. "I have missed your sense of humor mister Rory. I don't have much time before they come back for me."

"Wait.. Rip.. Who's they? Where are you?" Sara asked quickly. "They.." But just as Sara asked, Rip's image started fading out and his words became staticky and broken. "Earth.. Five.." Was all Rip's image was able to say before it faded out and disappeared.

This left Sara and Leo standing staring confused in the spot where Rip's image just disappeared from. It took a moment before Leo finally reacted. Glaring towards Mick, knowing he was planning to explain before Rip's image appeared. "Earth five? Mick.. What's going on? What.. The hell.. Is he talking about?"
