4:31 p.m.

Since it's a Monday, overtime is a must. Assigned kasi ako para maging ER doctor for today. Well, for sure sa opisina naman ako matutulog. I'm so certain na tatambakan ako sa taas ng sandamakmak na paper works para lang may magawa akong productive sa pag-OOT ko. I will be home early naman tomorrow kaya bawing-bawi rin ang shift.

Nasa Baristas lang ako, pakape-kape lang. Nag-iisa. Lea has to do her rounds as well as Pops kaya solo flight lang ako ngayon. Lea seems to be busy talaga, mukhang napagalitan yun kanina sa report e. Saka maagang mag-ooff yung mga yun.  Don't you dare tell me na si Zsazsa ang pwede kong isama, to hell with that feisty woman! 

I was in the middle of sipping my Iced Americano when my phone made a beep sound. Somebody just texted me.  Pinahiran ko muna ng tissue ang kamay ko to avoid my phone from getting wet.

Agad akong tumayo sa aking kinauupuan at patakbong lumabas ng coffee shop. Okay, nasampal na naman ako ng caffeine for tonight so I'll get through this like I used to be. Iniwan ko na doon ang kape ko, medyo malabnaw na rin naman yun e. Natunaw na yung ice. Hahaha.

In no time, I arrived at the hospital. Sobrang daming tao sa labas nito, halos di na ako makapasok sa sobrang sikip ng daan. I managed to get into the hospital right away. May banggaan na namang naganap. Well, kailangan ang mga katulad naming neuro-specialists to secure their brain, karamihan kasi sa mga naaksidente may nga fracture sa ulo dahil sa pagkabagok. It's a common thing.

"Anong nangyari?" I asked the nurses.

"15 mm deep cut on the stomach, neck and skull fracture." report naman sa'kin ng isang intern nurse. I checked it and tama nga, ang lalim ng sugat nito.

"Alam niyo na kung anong gagawin, place him in the internal med ward, I'll talk to Dra. Fernandez tomorrow about this," tumango naman ang mga nurses at kaagad na ginawa ang trabaho. "Put antiseptics on the wound to avoid infection. Monitor niyo rin ang platelet at blood count niya. I almost forgot, did he lost blood?"

"Luckily, hindi po." a female nurse replied.

"Good. Remember the pointers I said." bilin ko sa kanila. I was about to leave the emergency room when I saw him walking towards...me?

"A-anong ginagawa mo dito?" I gathered up courage to ask. Hindi niya ako pinansin at tuloy-tuloy na pumasok sa ER.

Ako naman si tangang chismosa, sinundan ko naman siya. I saw a woman laying down the hospital bed, sleeping peacefully. She was still on his corporate attire with her make-up on. Is this Ogie's employee? Mistress, perhaps?

Hindi naman siguro niya magagawa yun.

For fifteen years of marriage full of hatred, he never cheated on me. Wala rin namang nanlalandi sa kanya. I have seen him before, at hindi talaga siya pumapatol sa mga party girls kahit na avid drinker siya. Galit siya sa'kin, oo, pero nirespeto niya ako bilang asawa niya at that extent. I could bear his abuse and him being drunk, but I couldn't imagine myself still being strong with my husband having a mistress. Hindi ko kaya.
