A Chance

(Luka's POV)
After my argument with (y/n), Lila began to speak horribly about her. Calling her a mistake and a nuisance which immediately made me regret protecting her from you. When I tried to find you you were no where to be found, once sunset hit I just gave up and trudged back home. Remembering the sad look on your face as you ran away from me made me feel worthless knowing that I made you that sad. When I got home I got scolded for not calling and reporting that I'd be late. Juleka didn't even tell me hello since she was texting who I thought was Rose.

"So you little scallywag why are you so late home today?", My mom asked watching me plop onto my bed and groan at her.

She chuckled at me until I adjusted myself to look at her, I had to tell her about my crush eventually. Better late then never I guess.

"There's this girl, she's new, but we get along so well together. Today someone said some nasty things about her and although I wanted to help her avoid getting in trouble I only made it worse. She got mad at me and stormed off of school. I went looking for her but I couldn't find her.", I sighed.

My mom patted my head and ruffled my hair, "Well from the sound of it it seems you need to make it over this stormy sea in order to let your love sail peacefully my boy. You've always been a good hearted child, I know you'll find a way to make this right."

I smiled that night I peeked into Juleka's room to check if she was alright after the Akuma incident with Rose and Wolfie earlier. Sleeping like a baby, so I guess she was alright. I headed up to the bow of the ship and watched the water for a bit. Sass appeared soon after and watched with me as I tried to compose my thoughts. Was I just another hopeless romantic? Did I even deserve a miraculous? Were the feelings I had for (Y/n) one sided? Damn it what is wrong with me?

"Luka!", A voice yelled and suddenly Ladybug was crouched right in front of me.

I fell back ready to scream in fright but I slapped my hands over my mouth to muffle the sound since I didn't want to wake my family up. Ladybug didn't look all that impressed with me and honestly I don't blame her. Sass chuckled at my uncool reaction before bowing in respect to Ladybug.

"Luka it's been three weeks since I gave you the miraculous, I have to take it back. It's not fair to the others who I've loaned miraculouses to before.", Ladybug sighed.

In the end I never really got my answers but I know Ladybug can't give me anymore time to search. I handed over the bracelet and said goodbye to Sass, Ladybug wished me goodnight before disappearing into the night again. Hopefully school gets a little better tomorrow.

~the next day~
Once classes started it got pretty hectic, the school was planning a family festival day and each class had to come up with an idea for it. Kitty section and I decided to perform a new song for the event so we were hard at work in the courtyard but I was distracted. (Y/n) never showed up to class and I really wanted to apologise to her. The only reason we we're practicing in the courtyard is so I could catch you when you finally showed up.

"Thinking about (y/n)?", Juleka asked.

I nodded and let out a rather depressive sigh, maybe my crush was just one sided like every other relationship I've been in!

"She said she's not coming. Family events aren't really her thing so she's not coming till next week.", Juleka added catching my attention immediately.

"And how do you know that?", I asked.

"I have her number and I know where she lives?"

I immediately tackled Juleka and tried to snatch her phone but she held it away from me and pushed my face away so I couldn't reach. I forget (Y/n) likes Juleka better then me sometimes, "Oh come on Juleka just let me give her one little call."

My sister sighed and soon gave up so I could call you. It was strange waiting for you to pick up but when I heard your voice my heart started beating like its own drum solo.

"H-hey (Y/n)...i-its me Luka, you know Rattles. Listen I just wanted to say that I'm sorry about that time with Lila. I shouldn't have been so forceful on you and-"

"It's cool, in the end I let my anger get the best of me. Just go back to what you were doing and quit associating yourself with me. I'm not worth the trouble.", And with that she hung up.

For some reason I feel like I just made this worse, maybe it'd be better if I just told her in person. I quickly texted her to meet up with me at a coffee shop, I could buy her strawberry shortcake and we could talk it over. She didn't reply immediately but I'm sure she'll get back eventually.

"Everything okay?"

"Y-yeah...just trying to be bold and ask her out.", I explained.

Hopefully I'm lucky enough to talk to her again.

(Narrator's pov)
"I can't do it!", the (h/c) haired teen screeched unaware of what to do with her phone.

Ginn watched happily as his Master finally began to act like a teen. All their life together he has never once seen her this emotionally confused but he is glad to know that her mission isn't all that she worries about.

"Ginn!!!!! He asked me out for coffee even after I was a jerk and told him to stay away from me!"

Ginn smiled and replied for you saying that you were free Thursday night, (Y/n) watched impatiently wondering how to compile her wild thoughts. A reply came within the next minute which made her fall to the ground out of excitement.

"He said 'Sounds great I'll pick you up at five.', Ginn is this like a date?", (Y/n) asked rather sheepishly.

"In a way yes but at the same time no. All I know is that you have to go clothes shopping unless you wanna go I'm your pajamas.", Ginn teased pointing out your attire.

This was it, you had a chance at a normal life all because of one stubborn boy. You could hardly wait for it but you knew deep down that trouble wasn't far behind you.
