Ultimate Reveal

(Narrator's pov)
The tension was thick and heavy in the air, you were almost afraid to breathe from your place across the room. Luka's fingers were angrily digging into the sides of his head as he processed the fact that you were Howl. He was upset, he had every right to be, all your lies, all your illnesses, everything about you had finally come back to haunt you. You knew something was strange when Marinette called an emergency meeting with all the Miraculous holders and you knew the strange scent emanating from her pocket smelled familiar but it was to late when you realized what it was and now here you were silently regretting everything you had done these past few weeks.

"So...you just weren't going to tell me?", Luka finally spoke to you, he sounded exhausted and sad.

His blue hues were filled with nothing but hurt and deception and you knew that you just had to tell the truth. You took a deep breath and finally looked up at him wishing you could take back everything up until now.

"I-I...I just didn't know how to. I thought I could hide it until this was all over and just make you forget when I disappeared.", you explained in a quiet voice.

Luka could see the tears brimming at the corners of your eyes. He wanted to comfort you he really did but right now he just couldn't take the realization of your true identity.

"You're dying...I'm going to lose you and you decided to keep that a secret from me? Why? I don't understand, make me understand it (Y/n)!", Luka cried standing to his feet.

He stormed up to you grabbing you by the collar of your shirt and dragged you toward him, his forehead knocked against yours and he glared deep into your eyes showing you just how much this situation was killing him. The realization was eating away at his mind and heart because in just a few days you'd be nothing more then a distant memory and he didn't want that.

"I can't make you understand. This has been my fate since childhood, I knew I'd defeat Mayura and Hawkmoth and die. I just wasn't expecting to fall in love or make friends before the time came.", you sighed, Ginn appeared and growled at Luka for holding you in such a way.

Luka let go of you with an exhausted sigh and returned to his spot on his bed.

"You're Howl, my sister is Purple Tigress, and Marinette is Ladybug! All of you went behind my back and lied to me, I didn't want you to get involved because I wanted to protect you and yet here you are being the main character who wants to fight the bad guys!", Luka was furious, his voice became louder and angrier with each passing second.

"I know and I'm sorry I didn't mean to hurt you like this.", you tried to explain yourself, "I know you didn't want to get me involved but this was my choice Luka. I didn't mean to lie to you but I just couldn't bring myself to tell you about my secrets."

"Why not? Why couldn't you be truthful with me? (Y/n) I don't want to forget about you! I've been doing everything I could to make you happy and protect you, why did you have to be Howl? Why couldn't you just be a regular girl?", Luka barked more at the air then you but what he was saying was taking a toll on you.

You could feel the tears finally beginning to pour from your eyes, Ginn tried to wipe them away but you were in pain. Your heart was breaking because you knew this was the end for you two, "I-I'm sorry. I can't back down from this, I have to do this.", you sobbed.

Luka's heart felt crushed realizing that you had already made your choice, "(Y/n) if you walk out that door we're over and I won't forgive you. Just stay here, don't fight, just let the others handle this.", Luka pleaded but you shook your head finally breaking his heart.

"Don't fight for me, fight for Paris. After tonight don't think fondly of me, it'll make it easier for you once I'm gone.", your lips trembled, your eyes poured more tears, and even though your heart longed for him you were pushing Luka away.

"Goodbye Luka"

You walked out without another word, trying to ignore Luka's pleads for you to stay. Each call of your name was more heartbroken the last until you could no longer hear him. It was over, your happy life was no longer yours, you had let go of all your physical attachments to the world and finally accepted your fate. Luka was left heartbroken because of you and you knew that could never be changed but it was something that had to be done.

(Later that night)
You sat on a random ledge somewhere watching over the glowing city of Paris with tears still pouring down your eyes. Your black ears twitched to the sound of her footsteps behind you but you didn't react, you could see her red suit just out the corner of your eye but even so you didn't move.

"(Y/n) I'm sorry I didn't want the reveal to go like this. I wanted all of us to trust each other, I didn't think Luka would react the way he did.", Ladybug sighed.

You still didn't speak, you just continued looking over the city that would soon disappear with the coming war.

"I'm glad you did it, it made it easier for me to break things off since he hates me now. Although I'm not to sure he'll help us anymore.", you mumbled hugging your legs closer to your chest.

"(Y/n) he doesn't hate you. Luka loves you with all of his heart, w-we'll figure something out. I'm sure Master Fu has something that can fix you-"

"My grandfather will no longer be involved in our affairs, I made sure of that when I went to tell him my goodbyes."

Ladybug's eyes widened in shock from what you told her, you had actually met with your grandfather! She thought she could be happy but she realized that you had already accepted your fate, she wasn't sure what to tell you. Her powers could bring someone back from the dead, especially from something that wasn't related to an Akuma attack.

"I don't want to lose you.", she admitted finally shedding her own tears for you.

"Unfortunately it's something you'll have to accept. At least I got the chance to meet you all, I'll be heading home Milady. I'll see you in a few days, be ready, and for now just relax until Hawkmoth makes his move. Goodbye Hero of Creation."
