Countdown: Ryuko and Queen Bee

(Chloe's pov)
I scoffed at the tv seeing today's news of Fox Girl and Turtle Boy helping out Ladybug and once again I found myself sighing and feeling useless. It's been almost two months since I was last summoned and I hadn't seen ladybug or Howl since. Maybe I wasn't truly needed like I thought, I walked out onto my balcony and stared over the night sky enjoying the pale glow of the city lights. Maybe I really wasn't cut out to be a hero.

"Oh well so much for being a her-"

"Hey Queenie did you miss me?"

I let out an awkwardly loud screech having been scared to death by the other voice and sadly I screamed loud enough to alert Daddy and Mommy!

"Honey what's wrong I heard a scream!", my father yelled looking around for any culprits but I just stared in shock to you as you made faces behind my father while hanging upside down from the top of the roof deck.

"U-umm nothin Daddy everything is just fine I just got a little scared o-of a bug yeah a huge ugly bug!", I lied trying to convince my father to go inside before you did something stupid.

My father didn't seem that convinced but I got him to go back inside and return to sleep after promising I'd be careful and head off to bed soon. You curled back up the roof hiding from my obvious father but when I looked for you you were no longer in the same spot.

"Sooo how you been?", you asked from my chair drinking the lemonade I had made for myself.

"What are you doing here it is literally ten o'clock nobody is up this late!", I screamed softly trying to stay mad and hide my smile from you.

"I have something to give and ask you but I gotta wait for the others."

"The othe-"

"We're here.", Chat cheered landing softly on my rooftop with little miss Kagami in his arms.

As always she had that serious monotone expression on her face, she noticed you and quickly positioned herself as if to fight you but I stood in front of you to block her.

"If you so much as lay a hand on her I'm kicking you off my rooftop.", I growled.

Chat told her to calm down and mentioned that you were a friend, she seemed to ease up immediately and bowed asking for your forgiveness. You quietly gave it to her and bowed back giving me my lemonade back as Ladybug arrived on the rooftop.

"Chloe I'm sorry for not reaching out to you lately, but I've got to ask something very important of both of you.", Ladybug sighed extending her hand to Kagami with a miraculous box while Howl handed me mine, "Paris will be going into battle against Hawkmoth in just Fourteen days and I need all the miraculous holders to help us if we are going to make it through this and claim victory. Chloe Bourgeois, Kagami Tsurugi, will you both help us protect Paris in this battle as I will now permanently gift you your miraculous if you agree too."

"Of course Ladybug, I owe you a great debt and defending Paris from Hawkmoth is a worth challenge for me. I will do it.", Kagami smiled taking her miraculous box slowly before releasing Longg from his box.

Longg and Kagami quickly reconnected but I was left in shock to Ladybug'a speech, could I actually handle this? Wouldn't I just be a nuisance to the team? Howl seemed to notice my insecurities and opened the box for me, she gently brushed back my bangs and placed the bee miraculous in my hair as Pollen buzzed around me happily.

"We won't force you to fight with us Chloe but I don't know anyone more deserving of the Bee miraculous than you.", Howl smiled holding my cheeks gently as she pressed her forehead against mine.

I smiled at her kind words and held Pollen softly against my chest, my mind may not be in it but my heart is telling me to fight for my home and my friends, "I'll do it. I won't let Ladybug down and I especially won't let you down Howl."

You smiled at me and nodded your head seeing my passionate resolve light up my blue eyes. I nodded my head and smiled realizing that I was good enough to be apart of this team.

"I have a question?", Kagami asked pointing at you which you deadpanned at her in response.

"I don't have a good feeling about her, are you sure we can trust her?", she blurted out.

Ladybug and Chat both cried her name trying to defend you as best as they could but Kagami was not convinced. You smiled and walked up to her extending your hand for a shake, "My name is Howl, I'm the last owner of the Wolf Miraculous, and if you don't trust me now then don't get mad at me for having your back during the battle. You may not trust me but I trust any miraculous holder Ladybug has chosen."

Kagami stared at your hand for a moment not completely convinced until Longg stepped up to say something, "My my you aren't the Howl I remember, who may you be young pup?"

"The pup of the Howl you knew before, my mother died eleven years ago during the Chinese Peacock incident I took the mantle in order to exact revenge on Hawkmoth and Mayura but now as I near my death day I have but one last goal to return the butterfly and peacock miraculous to their true home.", you hummed leaving both Kagami and I shocked to the news of you dying.

Longg nodded his head at your words and gently patted your cheek, "It takes a vast amount of bravery and courage to leave the path of revenge and face death at such a young age you are indeed your mother's child."

You smiled softly plucked to long pieces of fur from your tail and formed them into bracelets in your hand. You handed one to Kagami but she seemed to lower her defenses around you and softly took it from your hand, you placed mine on my wrist and we all watched in shock as you fell to the ground after feinting. Ladybug quickly covered your body with a spare blanket I had on the table shielding you from both of our eyes, Chat explained the rings to us and quickly scooped up Kagami to return her home while Ladybug and I stayed their to help you. I noticed a bracelet on your wrist with a bee and strawberry charm on it and my eyes widened realizing who you were.

"L-Ladybug is (Y/n) dying?"

"(Y-)...how did you know?"

"This bracelet I made it for her, as I gift. S-she's wearing it, Howl is (y/n) and she's dying.", I teared up realizing that my best friend was suffering.

Ladybug couldn't help me as the tears fell from my eyes she just hugged me and hushed my sobs trying to get me to calm down. In just thirteen more days we'd be going to war against Hawkmoth and you wouldn't live to see the peace that you'd bring in our final battle. I had to step it up, I would have your back until then and help you as much as I could to ease your pain!
