Miraculous Song

One Step Closer

(Narrator's pov)
His green hues watched over you from the rooftop across your apartment building, he knew something was wrong, that something was changing about you but he just didn't know what it was. He sighed to himself and ordered Sass to rest his scales ending his transformation.

"You seem upset young Master, what is troubling you?", Sass hissed softly.

"I-I'm worried...about her. (Y/n) hasn't been the same since her akumatization and it worries me.", Luka sighed sitting down and staring up at the stars.

So much flowed through his mind these past few days, what was he supposed to do if you got caught up in danger again? He already failed you once and these strange rocks through out Paris were keeping him on edge.

"What should I do? What if she gets hurt again?", Luka growled to himself.

Sass gently patted his cheek and smiled reminding Luka to stay cool and collected, Luka decided to call it a night and once again transformed into Viperion to get home quickly. The lights were off in your apartment so Luka assumed that you had fallen asleep, as soon as he got home he showered and slowly fell asleep. He'd go visit you tomorrow and take you on a date, with Howl momentarily on break the city seemed a bit safer to him excluding the evil rocks of course.

Back at your apartment you yourself were lost in thought and in heartbreak, everyday you had the same vision and it was starting to take it's toll on your heart and mind. Surrounded by fire you were face to face with Mayura and Hawkmoth and just when all seemed lost one final howl seemed to ease the evil around you but at the price of your own life. Surrounded by heroes you can see yourself dying and then see your mother and the Howl's of the past all waiting for you but you don't want to go.

"The same vision Master?", Ginn mumbled against your chest listening to your unsteady heartbeat.

"Yes Ginn, I know I'll die soon but I don't want to. I have something to live for now, someone to live for.", you whimpered raising your hand into the air shedding tears as your eyes landed on the beautiful ring that wrapped around your ring finger.

"I know it is hard little one but maybe it would be better for you to focus on the task at hand and break things off with that young man. You can neither admit the truth nor bring yourself to confess that you're Howl."

You sighed and rested your arm over your eyes shielding them from the moonlight, Ginn was right, no doubt that your heart could focus on the battle if Luka was not on your mind. The thought crossed your mind for a second and then his voice and his smile began to play in your head. Your face flushed and Ginn chuckled realizing that his idea was no where in sight of consideration. He chuckled at your childish behavior and floated over to your windowsill to enjoy the bright full moon, he always loved how beautiful it was but it saddened him knowing that in just a few more moons you would be gone.

"Get some rest little one, you'll need to enjoy the last few days you have with them.", Ginn hummed softly singing to the moon in Chinese helping you nod off to sleep.

Your probation was over tomorrow, you could return to helping protect Paris just like before but you had to stay on guard. The end was coming and together you'd help defeat Hawkmoth.

(The next day)
Luka smiled having gotten out of work early, and decided to stop by your favorite sweets shop and pick up your favorite but much to his surprise you had already beat him to it. He noticed you leaning against a tree holding a bag of snacks with your eyes closed, you were lost in your music and your smile made his face flush red. You were just too beautiful for him to comprehend, he quietly walked towards you hiding on the other side of the tree and poking your shoulder to get your attention. You let out a soft hum and opened your eyes looking in the direction you had gotten poked but no one was there, then again on your other shoulder you turned the other way but nothing still. Once again a tap on the top of your head you pulled your earbuds out and circled the whole tree finding no one until you bumped into him. Luka chuckled at you and turned towards you placing a quick kiss on your lips before saying 'hello' to you. You smiled and kissed him back before interlacing your fingers with his as you both started to walk towards the river bank. You both sat together enjoying the snacks you had bought and talked about school and Luka's concert that you couldn't attend due to a sudden fever.

"The days sure to fly by huh? In just two months we'll be graduating, aren't you excited?", Luka cheered.

You smiled and cheerfully agreed but inside your heart a sad strut caught Luka's attention, you were hiding something. You had something bottled up that needed to come out.

"(Y/n) is everything alright?", Luka asked in a worried tone.

You stared at him, your vision blurring while another vision forced its way into your mind, "Yeah I'm totally fine! Can't wait to graduate, hey do you think they'll let Kitty Section preform for graduation that would be so cool!", you cheered trying to hide your pain through a smile.

Luka couldn't put his finger on what was wrong with you but he didn't want to be too persistent. You both decided to lay down in the grass and relax under the warm sun and for a moment everything felt peaceful because you were both together, but then a soft rumble caught both of your attention and Luka watched in horror as a purple rock emerged right next to your neck scratching you deep enough to make you bleed.

"(Y/n)!", he screamed quickly placing his hand over your cut to apply pressure and stop the bleeding.

Your body was shaking, you were scared, Luka tried to get you to look at him and focus but you were lost in shock. Your body paled and suddenly you shut down fainting in Luka's arms making his mind panic in fear. More rocks began to appear around you both raising Luka's rage but Sass appeared to help his master.

"Sass, scales slithers.", Luka ordered hiding behind one of the spiked rocks to transform freely before bounding onto one of the nearby rooftops.

His green hues scanned you up and down trying to make sure that you were still breathing, he quickly wrapped your wound in a cloth from his bag and gently hid you against the shade of the building to keep you safe.

"What's going on? Why now?", he growled to himself seeing more spikes emerge.

Then he heard an explosion near the school, another super villain had appeared. He growled under his breath his heart not wanting to leave you behind but he had a score to settle with the villain responsible for hurting you. He walked towards your sleeping figure and gently called your name, "(Y/n) I'll be right back, please just stay here so you don't get hurt okay. I'll be back soon.", he hummed placing one last kiss against your forehead before leaping towards the school.

A pair of small grey ears appeared from your pocket, twitching in each direction for the slightest sound, and then a pair of green eyes appeared to scan the premises. Ginn emerged from your pocket and quickly healed the gash on your neck before awakening you from his sleeping spell.

"I believe that Howl will be needed in this battle, say the words Master.", he yipped excitedly.

You groaned softly waking from your sleep but obviously annoyed having been attacked, "Ginn, start the hunt.", you smiled the familiar warm grey glow enveloping your body until you felt complete again.

You stared out over the city and smiled, Howl was back and this parade of evil rubble was gonna be stopped before Hawkmoth could do any more damage. You took a running start off the rooftop and leaped through the sky but little did you know that Hawkmoth's plan was already in full swing. The ending was coming faster than you could imagine.
