Forever Viperion

(Narrator's POV)
Another akuma, another villain, another chance at your being injured, Luka's paranoia was taking a toll on his mental state. Once the akuma was purified he met with Ladybug in a nearby alley way but the spotted hero knew something was on his mind.

"What's wrong Viperion?", Ladybug asked.

"...I-I...I have a favor to ask of you. Please let me keep Sass.", Luka pleaded as his transformation ended.

Ladybug stared at him in shock and quickly declined his demand much to his disappointment.

"Luka I can't do that, the longer Sass is with you the more danger you'll be in. I can't even leave Rena with her miraculous. I'm sorry Luka but I just can't risk your life like that.", Ladybug sighed.

"Ladybug please, I need his help. Without Sass I can't protect those that I need to protect.", Luka growled losing his usual calm demeanor.

"Luka!"

The emotional teen bared his canines at his spotted friend as her miraculous started to sound off, "How am I supposed to protect (Y/n) with people like Hawkmoth and Lila around? It's even worse with Howl around, she's to rough for this city to be a hero! I can't sleep at night knowing that (Y/n) and my family aren't safe because I can't protect them until you reach out to me! I need to protect them and only Sass can help me!", Luka pleaded.

"I'm sorry Luka but no...now please give me back the bracelet.", Ladybug begged reaching out for it even as Luka walked away from her.

"Luka! Luka where are you?", a voice called forcing Luka to a stop.

"Luka!", Ladybug panicked her earrings beeping louder as her transformation neared.

Another person arrived in the alley way and much to Luka's shock it was (Y/n), she noticed Ladybug and realized what was going on. She carefully walked towards her boyfriend and lifted up his hood blocking him from seeing the hero and forcing him to look at her while she rested her forehead against his chest to keep Ladybug's identity safe.

"What's the matter Luka?", You asked hearing a chilling silence and a small squeak of fear.

"I-It's nothing Ladybug just...just needed to borrow a bracelet from me.", He lied trying to hide his miraculous with his sleeve.

You noticed the odd snake shaped item and sighed realizing that you were right about him being a miraculous holder like yourself.

"So you were helping her then right? You gotta give it back Luka, it's not yours. You helped her now give it back to her so you can help her next time.", You sighed slipping your fingers between his until he gave into your puppy dog eyes.

He sighed and handed you the miraculous as if you were Ladybug and walked away in disgust with himself. You noticed a scared scent near the trashcan and walked up to the other end of of it, you placed the miraculous box just at the end and smiled, "I'm sorry about him, he means well, he just hates how much trouble I get myself into. Please don't hold his weakness for me against him, he's a great guy and a great hero.", You hummed walking away to meet up with your emotional boyfriend.

He didn't want to talk the rest of the way home but you held his hand tight to remind him to be happy. Marinette watched from afar with Sass hovering next to her, he was a wise old snake but his heart ached seeing his master so sad.

"Deep down I know you made the right choice, but I too feel guilty for making my master seem so weak and helpless.", Sass sighed.

"Luka doesn't need power to protect those he cares for.", Marinette sighed.

Marinette quickly returned Sass to Master Fu who was still trying to determine the identity of his granddaughter. She asked his opinion on Luka's demand and answered with the same response Marinette had given her friend.

"It's a great responsibility to be a hero Marinette, and those who beg for the power may lead themselves down a dark path that they may not return from.", Fu sighed.

Marinette noticed her teacher smiling at a photo of a small baby and smiled with him, "She was a lovely baby, I wonder what she looks like now?", Marinette giggled.

"Her given name was Ming Yué, it means bright moon since she was born on a beautiful night. That's all I can remember of her, it's been so long that I've forgotten her small face.", he sighed.

The two sat in silence staring at the photo until a howl caught there attention, Marinette sighed recalling how Howl got thrown into a tree today during the mission.

"You know Luka's actually met with Howl multiple times, maybe he knows something about her.", Marinette hummed.

Fu stared at his young pupil in shock and quickly handed her back the snake miraculous!

"Get that information from him and if need be offer him Sass if he refuses to speak to you.", Fu ordered obviously forgetting what he just said minutes before.

"But Master Fu!"

"Marinette please, if it means finding my granddaughter and breaking her from the curse of the wolf miraculous than I'm fine trusting one more hero with a miraculous."

Mari sighed and agreed to do it over nightfall, she felt uneasy about the plan but Sass was more than happy once he was informed of what was going to happen. He didn't want to see his master suffer anymore, and if a trade was enough to help everyone the small blue kwami was more than happy to help. Once Mari reached the canal she noticed Luka staring out over the water with his guitar next to him, there was a broken string which she assumed he had snapped out of anger.

"Tough time sleeping?", Ladybug asked making her presence known.

Luka stared up at the spotted hero through his teary blue eyes, "L-Ladybug what're you doing here?"

She hopped down from the cross nest and landed next to Luka with a small smile before she began looking out over the water with him, "Just came to check if you were okay, your girlfriend is really nice. She told me to not to hold your emotions against you, especially since it's her fault that you're so protective now.", she giggled watching her friend's face turn bright red.

"She really said that? It's not her fault...well maybe it is...it's just she always runs off and I get scared hearing people scream because I worry if it's her scream or her cries. I just...I'm just trying to find the right song that'll protect everyone I care about.", Luka sighed.

"I know...I know and for that you're gonna need Sass right?"

"Ladybug?"

"You've interacted with Howl right? If you have than I have a proposition for you, tell me everything you know about her, everything she's told you and I'll let you keep Sass.", Ladybug sighed showing Luka the box that held his miraculous, "Can I trust you?"

"Yeah, always."
