"Miss Silva! Are you listening?!"
My classmates started laughing, pointed their fingers at me. In an instant my face is as red as a tomato.
I'm bothered. I feel like there's something about that simple message.
Legacy? Was it referring to me?
"Class dismissed!"
I took my bag and went out the room.
"Let's go!" I poked her. Tinanggal niya naman yung earphones niya sa tenga at inakbayan ako.
"So, where are the letters?"
"Is something wrong?" she asked.
"You know that I receive love letters from strangers, right?"
"Every single day, yeah. Bakit? Are you tired of receiving them? Do you want it to stop?" she asked.
"No. Hindi. Hindi naman siya issue sa akin. But I received this very suspicious black paper--"
"Black paper?" Anna's eyebrows met. Parang hindi niya ito inaasahan.
"Yeah."
All of the sudden, biglang nanlaki yung mga mata niya.
"Sh*t! Anong nakalagay?" She asked.
"Just a poem. Why?" I replied.
When our eyes met, I see a different Anna. Her eyes were full of seriousness. Parang nagbagong-anyo siya.
"Where is the letter?"
"Nasa bag. Bakit?"
"Listen Via," she paused as she put both of her hands on my shoulders. Kapag tinawag na niya ako ng Via, it means that she's dead serious. "Uuwi tayo ngayon. Since wala tayong driver, maglalakad tayo pauwi. Give me a favor to not look back while we're walking. Can you do that for me?"
