Everyone in the cafeteria were in a complete shock. Mukhang hindi pa rin nag-sink in sa kanila yung ginawa ko. I just slapped their 'king' and here I am now praying for my life. I shouldn't have done that.
Hindi pa rin nakagalaw mula sa pagkasampal ko yung 'king' nila. Mukhang pati siya nagulat sa ginawa ko. He then stood up straight and looked down at me. Feeling ko ang liit ko tuloy.
"You have a death wish?" He asked in a threatening tone.
Hindi ko na alam kung ano gagawin ko. But then I remembered what Chen told me. Ang sabi niya itututok ko lang daw yung baril kapag may magtangkang pumatay sa akin. This time, I feel like it's the right time.
Dinampot ko yung baril at itinutok sa kanya. I underestimated his skills, unfortunately. Bago ko pa maitutok yung baril ay nakuha na niya yung kamay ko and he gripped it really tight. The stinging pain was too much to handle kaya nabitawan ko yung baril. I eventually look very weak. Well, who says I'm not?
"Bitawan mo ako," I plead.
"I'm not letting you go unless I'm done with you."
Inilipat niya yung kamay niya sa leeg ko. Fvck! Is he going to strangle me to death? Hindi naman mahigpit yung pagkahawak niya sa leeg ko pero nang tumagal ay lalong humihigpit.
"What is the meaning of this?!" Umalingawngaw ang tinig ng isang babae. Kahit hindi ko siya nakikita alam ko kung sino siya. She tends to save my butt. "Let go of her."
"Stay away from this, Chen," sabi nung 'king'.
He stared into my eyes and I stared back weakly. Ang tapang ko na siguro para titigan din siya.
"She is my friend," sabi ni Chen.
Napahinto yung 'king' nila at binitawan na din ako. Nakahinga na din ako nang maluwag nung binitawan na niya ako. Agad namang lumapit sa akin si Chen at inalalayan ako.
"Are you okay?" She asked which I responded with a nod. "What were you thinking? You almost killed her!" Baling niya sa lalaki.
Everyone was bowing at the boy but she's shouting at him. Gusto ko sanang umusisa pero mas pinili kong isipin yung sarili habang hinahabol yung hininga.
"Ayaw kong mag-away tayo. Save your words," sabi nung lalaki at tumalikod. He went out of the cafeteria alone.
Tiningnan namin yung lalaking naglakad papalayo sa amin. Kahit papaano ay nakampante na ako na safe ako— kahit na nakatingin pa rin sa akin yung ibang estudyante.
"I'm sorry about that, again,"paumanhin ni Chen.
"Is everybody here brutal?" I asked.
She chuckled. "Yup! Might as well get used to it."
Napahawak ako sa leeg ko. I can still feel his warm hands around my neck. Kung hindi pa dumating si Chen kanina malamang pinaglalamayan na ako ngayon..
"Who was that?" Tanong ko.
Alam ko na siya yung 'king' ng campus but I don't know who he really is. Chen and him looks like close. The way they exchange words. I can tell.
"That's Noah Stein," she paused and then wrinkled her nose. "My brother."
Nanlaki ang aking mga mata. "Your what?"
So that explains why they are quite close with each other. Akala ko magkaibigan o magjowa. Magkapatid pala sila?
