XXIII. The Incident

"Come on Anna. Please tell me"

Para akong tangang buntot na buntot kay Anna. I know that she knows something. Yung titigan nilang lahat dun hapag, alam kong iisa lang yung iniisip nila and I wanna know! Sobrang na-a-out of place na ako!

"Ano bang gusto mong malaman?" Suko niya habang napaupo sa kama niya. Hindi ko napansin na nakapasok na pala kami sa bahay nila diretso sa kwarto niya.

"Everything. Tungkol dun sa iniisip niyo kanina"

"Wala akong alam, okay?"

"Anna naman eee" sinamahan ko siya sa kama niya. "Alam kong may alam ka. You wouldn't be this difficult if you don't know anything"

"Wala nga kasi!"

"Fine!" I crossed my arms. "Ganyan ka naman sa akin ee. Ang damot-damot mo sa impormasyon. Ewan ko ba kung tunay ba kitang kaibigan"

Ipinakita ko sakanya na nagtatampo ako. Kumagat ka please.

"But I'm in no place to tell you"

"Don't bother. Sa'yo nalang 'yan. Wala ka namang planong sabihin sa akin"

"Come on babe. Don't be so difficult"

"So I'm being difficult?"

I'm still crossing my arms when I heard her sigh.

That's a good sign!

"Ito na. Sasabihin ko na"

Agad ko siyang hinarap at sabik ba sabik na marinig yung sasabihin niya. This is it!

"But promise me not to tell your parents that I told you this"

"Promise"

"Pinky Swear?"

She raised her pinky as I raised my brows.

"Seriously?"

Diba pambata ang pinky swear? Hindi na ako bata!

"Come on, just do it!"

And we intertwined our pinkies together.

Tumayo muna sa at naglakad papuntang pinto. Nilock muna yun bago umupo sa tabi ko.

"Saan ba ako magsisimula?"

"Hmm. Let's see" nag-isip isip muna ako. Saan nga ba magsisimula? "Ah! Why did Papa said that they used to be brothers?"

"King Xander Chase was the legitimate son of Stein. Yung Papa mo ay anak sa unang asawa ng Lola mo. So when your Grandma married King's Dad, they become step brothers"

"Ahh. Kaya pala" I nod.

"But there's more"

"More?"

Tinanguan niya ako.

"Your Papa is not the only son of Stein. Stein adopted your Uncle, Stephen"

"What?! Ang gulo naman! Diba Murlhey si Tito Stephen?"

"Yes he is. He also adopted your Mama"

Okay. Pause muna.

Ang gulo 'a! Ang dami naman niyang anak. Not to mention most of them were adopted. Hindi ko maintindihan! Naguguluhan na talaga ako!

"Ang gulo. Pramis"

She chuckled at my reaction.

"Kaya nga ipapaintindi ko sa'yo"
