VII. Meeting the Faceless Queen

We're fighting the pandemic COVID 19 at pareho po tayong lahat na gustong matapos na ito. The front-liners were risking their lives to stop this pandemic. The least that we can do is to follow the protocol. Please stay at home guys. Lovelots!

"Are you okay? May sugat ka ba?"

"You pushed me pretty hard but I'm fine" I assured Chen. She's been checking me making sure I am okay.

After the scene of me and Noah, Chen reached me then hugged me. Hindi ko namalayan na nakasunod pala siya sa amin.

"Did my brother do something? Kung ginalaw ka niya papatayin ko talaga siya!" Nagulat ako sa sinabi niya kaya napakurap ako. When students here say that they're gonna kill someone, they mean it.

"No!" She exclaimed. Nabasa niya siguro yung expresyon ng mukha ko. "Of course I'm not gonna kill him. He's my f*cking brother. What I said was just an expression"

"Ahh..." Akala ko ano na.

"So, anong ginawa niya sa'yo?"

"Wala. He just carried me"

"Why would he do that?" Tanong ni Chen na may panuksong tingin. "The last time I remembered he was eager to kill you. What happened?" She smiled mischievously. Ano ba ang iniisip niya?

"Ewan ko sa'yo"

"Ma? Saan tayo pupunta?"

"I'm going to show you my world. Hindi ko na kayang magtago. And I think it's time for you to see this side of me. Hindi ka na bata" she smiled at hinalikan ako sa noo.

"Ikaw din ba Papa?" Nilingon ko si Papa na nagmamaneho. He didn't look at me for his eyes were focused on the road. Pero sinagot niya yung tanong ko.

"Me and your mom are actually partners when it comes to this. So, we'll do this together while you watch us" he answered coldly. Ganyan talaga si Papa. Super cold but super sweet.

"Don't worry, me and your Tito Sky will be sitting next to you" sabi ni Tita Ace na nakaupo sa shotgun.

Nilingon ko si Anna na naglalaro ng mobile game sa phone niya sa likuran. She's dressed like she's going to be in an action movie.

"Bakit kasama natin si Anna?" I asked.

"You don't want me to come with you?" tanong ni Anna habang nakakapit sa dibdib niya. She's acting like she's hurt.

"Anna will be joining us" sabi ni Mama sa tabi.

"Joining you? Bakit? Anong gagawin niyo?"

"You'll see"

Naguguluhan akong umupo. Parang may kung ano akong nararamdaman pero hindi ko matukoy kung ano.

"We're here!" Tita Ace screamed saka kami bumaba lahat.

"Woah" I gasped. An abandoned dome stood in front of me. Mukhang ilang taon na din itong hindi nagamit kasi ang dumi na.

"Tara, pasok na tayo" Tita Ace leads the way.

"Pasok? D'yan?"

"Yes, baby. Bakit?" Tanong ni Mama.

"I don't think that's a good idea. I have a bad feeling about this" I coward back.

"That's the way you should feel when we're here. Don't worry. You'll love it" Mama smiled in a creepy way.

Inihiwalay ni Mama yung pagkahawak niya sa kamay ko at may kinuha sa pocket niya. It was a mask. Half of her face is covered. That's when confusion hits me.

"Bakit naka-maskara po kayo Mama?" Before she can answer, Tita Ace held my hand away from my Mother.

"Let's go Via. I reserved a sit for us" Hindi pa nga ako nakasagot hinila na ako ni Tita Ace kasama si Tito Sky. Pumasok kami sa Dome at hindi ko inakala na maraming tao ang nandito. Akala ko abandoned, pero bakit maraming tao? I flinched when someone poked me.

"Hoy!" I turn my head and was welcomed by an old man. "Bili ka. May tinda akong mga baril... Tsaka- tsaka ano... Kutsilyo din. Hahaha" Nakakatindig-balahibo yung matanda habang tumatawa ng nakakatakot.

"Hindi po namin kailangan yan" Sita ni Tito Sky sa matanda at hinila ako palayo dun. Nakita namin sa di kalayuan ang upuan na nakalaan para sa amin. Agad namin itong tinungo.

"Are you guys reaadyyyy!!"

Nagsihiyawan ang mga tao sa loob. They all went crazy like they're hungry of what's to come. May nakaguhit na bilog sa pinakasentro sa baba. May mga sandata ding nakahiga sa mesa na nakalagay di malayo sa bilog. I think I know where this is going.

"The moment that we've been waiting for. Let's welcome Rio Lee and Rica Lee!!!"

"Woahhh!!"

A man and a woman stood inside the circle and they're waving at the crowd like some kind of a politician or something. Mukhang magkakapatid sila kasi magkakahawig yung mukha nila.

"Losers..." I heard Tito Sky whispered.

"Yeah. We're far more skillful than them" Tita Ace added.

Binalik ko nalang ang atensyon ko sa baba at hindi pinansin ang mga komento nina Tito Sky at Tita Ace.

"And now it's a comeback!!"

"Woahhh!!"

"Bring out the Queen!!"

Nakita ko kung paano umirap sina Rica Lee. Mukhang ako lang ang walang alam dito 'a. Who's the Queen?

"I want to hear your roars! Give it up to The Faceless Queen!!"

"Woaahhhhhh!!!"

Nagsihiyawan na naman ang mga tao. Nagulat ako nang nakihiyaw na din sina Tito Sky at Tita Ace. What?

A familiar figure walks dangerously towards the circle. My heart began racing so fast. No, this can't be!

"And her partner Zach Silva!"

My dad stood right beside my mother. This is bad. Anong gagawin nila?

"Show us death!!!" A man screamed that gives shivers down my spine.

"Choose the weapon of your desire"

Tinungo nina Mama yung mesa at pumili ng armas. Pinili ni Papa yung nunchucks habang pinili naman ni Mama yung maliit na bagay na halos hindi ko na makita.

"Looks like the Queen still wants her favorite!"

Favorite? Bigla akong kinabahan sa pinili ni Mama. Bakit ba yung yung pinili niya? It's too small and- and-- hindi ko alam kung makaya niya yung kalaban niya kapag yun yung gagamitin niya.

Tinungo na din ng Lee siblings ang mesa. Pinili ni Rio yung dagger habang thorn baseball bat naman ang pinili ni Rica. I instinctively swallowed the lump on my throat.

"You must be wondering why your mother chose the Butterfly Knife" It's like Tita Ace read my mind.

"Why did Mama chose it?" I asked back.

"It's her favorite. And above all of their selected weapons, your mom's is the deadliest"

"How can you be so sure about that?"

"Because I've seen her do it a thousands of times"

A thousand of times? Meaning she's been doing this in her teens?

"That's bullsh*t!"
