XXIV. Kiss Mark

Via's POV

"What the fvck babe?! Why would you accept a thing from a stranger"

"I'm sorry, okay. Hindi ko naman alam"

At hindi stranger si Noah.

"Kaya nga. Hindi mo alam kaya hindi mo na dapat tinanggap. What were you thinking?!" Nasapo niya ang noo niya while walking back and forth.

"Sorry" I whispered.

I didn't expect that they would all react like this. Nung nalaman ni Mama kung kanino ko yung nakuha halos magwala na siya. I never saw my Mom that angry before. Pinipigilan lang niya yung sarili niyang makasira ng gamit sa loob ng kwarto ko. When she went out of my room, vases were crashing as well as the frames. Knives were flying everywhere kaya nagising yung kabilang bahay- sina Tita Ace, Tito Sky at Anna.

They rush themselves here at our house. Pati si Papa nagising at may dala pang baril. Akala niya siguro nilooban kami.

Right now, nasa kwarto ako at kasama ko si Anna na sinisermunan ako. The adults were talking outside about this issue. I feel like I'm in big trouble.

"What should we do?" Anna whispered but loud enough for me to hear.

Big deal ba sa kanila yung kwintas? As what I remember, it saved my life once nung nasa red room ako. Muntik na akong gahasain nun but thanks to the necklace, the man let go of me.

Tama! Dapat kong sabihin yun sa kanila.

"Anna listen..."

"Shush. I'm trying to think"

"Please just hear me out"

"Ano ba? What can be more important than this?!" Galit niyang tanong. Pati din siya na-bad mood sa issue.

"It's not a big deal. It's not all bad"

"Not all bad?" She laughed bitterly. "Via, this is serious! Do you know who you were being with?"

"Oo alam ko. Siya si Noah Stein, son of King Stein"

"Yun naman pala! Alam mo naman pala na pamilya sila ng taong gustong pumatay sa mga magulang mo noon!"

Natuptop ko yung bibig ko. Bakit hindi ko naisip yun? Pero bakit parang pakiramdam ko hindi silq ganung tao? Maybe they changed their ways. Who knows? Iba yung taong gustong pumatay ng parents ko at wala pa sina Noah at Chen sa mga panahong yun.

"What if they changed?"

Anna looked at me in disbelief.

"Seriously?" She exclaimed at napasabunot sa buhok niya. "Hindi natin 'yan alam Via. Pero isa lang ang alam nating lahat. Nakaratay sa mga dugo nila ang pagiging Stein. They might want revenge! Pinatay ng Mama mo ang ama ni King. Sino ang hindi magagalit?"

"Hindi sila ganun" Bulong ko pero hindi yun nakatakas sa pandinig ni Anna.

"I heard you. Ano yun?"

"Ang sabi ko, hindi sila ganun. They treated me differently from what you thought"

She let out a bitter laugh. "Can't you see? They are only pretending! Kinukuha nila yung loob mo. Gagamitin ka lang nila laban sa pamilya mo"

"That's not true!" Hindi ko mapigilan ang pagtaas ng boses ko na siya namang napakunot sa noo ni Anna.

They can't be like that. I refuse to agree with Anna this time- for the first time. Hindi niya kilala sina Noah at Chen kaya hindi dapat niya hinuhusgahan sila. They've been good to me. Pati yung ama nila. Hindi sila masama.
