XVII. The tutor

"Take a sit Miss Silva"

The moment I entered the office, all eyes were on me kaya umupo agad ko. Nakaupo sa harap ko si Kkaren and she smiled, so I smiled back.

"I heard what happened to you. I'm so sorry. How are you?" tanong sa akin nung principal.

"Okay naman po ako" I replied.

"Mabuti naman. At dahil sa four-month absent mo, kailangan mong humabol. That's why the faculties and I decided to give you a tutor" She gave Kkaren a short glance bago tumingin ulit sa akin. "This is Miss Rivera. She us going to be your tutor. Miss Rivera, this is Miss Silva, your tutee"

"H-Hi Olivia" Nginitian ko siya bilang ganti.

"I expect you to pass this semester Miss Silva. Dismiss"

"Thank you Ma'am"

Pareho kaming lumabas ni Kkaren sa office at agad tumungo sa library. Ang sabi niya, doon daw muna kami magsisimula.

"U-Umupo ka m-muna dito, Olivia. K-kukuha lang ako ng a-aklat" nauutal niyang sabi kaya tumango ako. Tiningnan ko siya habang papalayo hanggang sa hindi ko na siya nakita.

"Does she always stutter like that?" Nagulat ako nang may biglang nagsalita sa gilid ko.

"What the hell?! Lucca?!" I shouted in a whisper. Anong ginagawa niya dito? Sinusundan niya ba ako?

"Hey" sabi niya. He's wearing a hoodie tapos may makapal pa siyang salamin. His hair is now dyed to black. Wala na yung usual red highlights niya. His straight hair became curly. What's with this transformation?

"What are you doing here?"

"Nothing. Just following orders"

"Orders? From who?"

"Your parents. Pagkatapos nung nangyari sa'yo they became more protective. So they told me to protect you." He shrugged. "Ayoko nga sana 'e. Kaso binabantaan ako ni Anna. That spoiled brat!"

"That's unbelievable" nasapo ko nalang yung noo ko. Kailangan pa ba akong bantayan ni Lucca? I mean, oo, maraming nangbubully sa akin dito but andito naman si Chen 'e. Tsaka hindi na ako bata. Isa pa, baka may mas importante pang gawin si Lucca at hindi niya magawa-gawa dahil nandito siya't binabantayan ako.

"Hindi ka naman nakikipaglaban, diba? How can you protect me?"

"I can't fight, but I will protect you at all cost"

"Pero paano ka? Hindi kita reaper Lucca. Bakit hindi si Anna?"

"First, I have my ways to protect you. Second, gusto ko ding pumasok sa eskwelahang ito"

"But this school is dangerous. If they found out that you're new, you'll be their target victim"

"Who said I'm new?"

"S-Sorry I t-took so long" Nilagay ni Kkaren yung mga aklat na kinuha niya sa harap ko. "I-I assumed that you weren't able t-to learn t-these topics. L-Let's start"
