Notes: This is kind of in response to the Death of Swellview City one shot... What if the roles were reversed? Also, it's a drabble so it's short and yeah.

He stood on the top of the tallest skyscraper in Swellview. The city below him was burning to ruins. Captain Man and Kid Danger ended up miscalculating when they fought Rick and the villian took over the Swellview. The superhero sighed before turning around to face a new arrival. "You can put your arms down," he said to Veronica, ex-criminal turned Hero League informant. She smirked but did as she was told. Joining him, she stepped up on the ledge of the building. He could feel her staring at him before she spoke,

"I suppose that means you aren't going to arrest me?" To her surprise he laughed out loud then turned to her as he answered,

"I didn't even know you were still in the city until tonight. After... it... happened, I'm surprised you didn't get the hell out of dodge."  He said looking at her, she blinked then said,

"I thought about it Mr. Captain Man sir, but then I thought about how stupidly loyal Kid Danger was to his friends and I figured if I couldn't save him from his death then I sure as hell could try to avenge him." Ray's expression darkened then she said, "I'm sure he didn't blame you for what happened." He shook his head,

"Piper does, so does Mr. and Mrs. Hart." Veronica rolled her eyes,

"they weren't there were they? They don't know Rick targeted you and Henry jumped in the way of the prick's shot." Ray looked out into the city, another building not two blocks away fell to rubble.

"If I knew the kid at all he wouldn't want us to wallow in self-pity after his death." His expression hardened then her turned to her, "so what do you say Girl Danger?" He asked chuckling at her surprise. Thankfully she nodded then said,

"let's go kick some bad-guy ass Captain Man!"  He smiled then followed her as she jumped off the building landing on her feet. He stood up then the two superheroes raced each other back into the war of good verses evil.
