Chapter 20- Jewels Birthday

It was a perfect timing Jewel and I got along right before her birthday and I decided to give her the best surprise on her 14th birthday, a surprise that she would never forget.

*ALARM GOES OFF*

"Wake up Mike, you might be late for school, I already cooked your breakfast and ironed your clothes." As my mom announced.

"5 minutes Mom!" I replied.

Then, I suddenly realized today was Jewels birthday, I quickly jumped out of bed, took a bath, and went downstairs to eat.

"So, Mike, how was your grades on last weeks exams?" My mom asked.

"Mom, as long as our family is together we'll always be together." I quickly changed the topic and ran to go to school.

"Bye Mom! See ya later!" As I waved goodbye.

"Be careful sweetie!"

/Half an hour later./

"Kate, wheres Jewel?"

"Shes not yet here, why?"

"Today is her birthday right?"

"Oh yeah! I forgot, what do you have in mind for her?"

"I have a surprise for her later at the mall."

"What is it?" Kate asked.

"Its a surprise."

"Ughh."

A few minutes later Jewel finally arrived and I quickly greeted her and carried her bag inside the classroom.

"Seems like your much more happier than I am during my birthday Mike, why are you smiling so much today?" Jewel asked.

"I have a surprise for you later Jewel, would you mind hanging out with me in the mall after class?"

"Really? Ok Ill stick around."

"Thats great, I hope you wont ever forget about my surprise for you Jewel."

"Ill try." As she laughed.

"Ok class, seems like today is one of your classmates birthday, Jewel, stand up, everybody, lets sing a Happy Birthday for Jewel." As the teacher announced.

Everybody sang Happy Birthday to Jewel, and made Jewels day complete, but Ill make it much more complete later for my surprise.

After class we went to the mall and walked around.

"Jewel, are you ready for my surprise?" I asked.

"Ye-"

"OMG Happy Birthday Jewel!" As a crowd of people suddenly blocked my way.

"Excuse me people, Im trying to tell something to Jewel." I shouted.

"Jewel, I know we have been through a lot of hardships together, misunderstandings, and all but I wanted to tell you something, oh and heres my gift, don't open it yet unless I tell you." I slowly told her.

"Im listening.." Jewel replied.

"I, I don't want to be your friend anymore." As I announced.

Tears rolled down on Jewels face as the crowd shouts at me,

"I-I don't understand." As Jewels continued to cry.

"Open my gift." I answered

As Jewel slowly opened the small box she saw a necklace and read a note inside it and heard me say the exact words on the note.

"Jewel, I don't want to be your friend anymore, I want to be your boyfriend, now, will you be my girlfriend?"

A huge smile showed up on Jewels face as she quickly hugged me and said,

"Of course I will." As the crowd cheered.

"I bet you didn't expect that, didn't you?

"I never did, Im never forgetting this day, this is the best surprise Ive ever had in my life."
