Chapter 35-New Years Eve

I ran to Vince's place soon as I read Jewels text,

As I was running towards the corner of the street, something or someone caught my eye.

"Hello." A stranger waved.

"Oh sorry, but Im running late on something, till I see you next time!" As I quickly ran.

"Oh, okay." She replied.

"She looks familiar, haven't I seen her before?" I said to myself as I left.

Strangers POV

"He doesn't remember me."

Mikes POV

"Jewel, sorry if I was late, Im really,-"

"Its okay Mike, actually I wasn't even that mad, to be honest with, I just arrived a few minutes ago, I just wanted you to rush by here as quick as you can so I can have somebody to talk to." Jewel giggled.

"Phew, I thought I was a goner, good thing she doesn't know what I was doing." I told myself.

"Whats wrong? Hmmmm, were you doing something before you got here?" She looked at me with her curious face.

"Uhhhh its nothing Jewel, haha, come on, lets get on with the party."

Its been a few hours and the time has finally come, 1 more minute till January 1, we were all excited and sorta drunk after drinking too much,

"10,9,8.." As everyone counted down.

We were all at the backyard, tired and exhausted but still alive and Jewel and I were sitting on the hammock.

I looked at Jewel, the way girls want to look at them, she looked back with her stunning eyes, and as the countdown finally reached 1.

"Happy New Year Mike." As she slowly leaned towards me.

"Is this it? Is it finally gonna happen?!" As I slowly leaned towards her as well with closed eyes.

*Bump*

"What?" As I looked down.

*Snore*

"She, fell asleep." I said.

After realizing that Jewel was already asleep I looked around and everybody was knocked down. They were all asleep, except for me.

I decided to get Jewel home, I carried her outside finding a taxi, when a peculiar face appeared in the corner,

It was the stranger I met before arriving at the party,

I slowly walked towards her and said,

"Do I know you?"

"Aw, Jewels asleep, how are you Mike?" She asked.

"How do you know our names? Wait, ooh, you might have been someone I knew before I got amnesia."

"Ohh, my name is,"

"Mikkee, am I home yet?" Jewel slowly woke up.

"Oh no, I was just talking with,"

"Shes gone?" I told myself.

"Ugh, maybe you're too wasted you're talking to ghosts already." Jewel joked.

"Yeah, I hope so."

I took Jewel home and went back to my place soon after, but I was still confused of who that stranger was.

She looked so familiar but I cant pinpoint who she really was, but as usual, I let it pass by and ignored it.

The next day both Jewel and I woke up at the same time.

It was 4 in the afternoon, we were so tired we already missed half the morning.

I texted her if how she was.

She replied to cone with her on the park.

I said yes and started to get dressed, as I went out the house, I saw someone in the corner of my eye but seemed like nobody was there.

I arrived at the park and saw Jewel, beautiful as always.

"Heey pretty, how long have you been waiting?" I asked.

"Not long, haha, so have you eaten breakfas-er I mean brunch?"

"Sadly no, say, I heard that McDonalds have a limited offer of McRibs want me to buy you some? We can eat together?" I asked.

She nodded with a happy smile on her face.

"2 orders of McRibs please?" As I ordered the meal.

"Okay sir, we'll serve it to you in a few minutes." The cashier stated.

"You're, I mean, our meal is getting ready Jewel." As I tapped her head.

"Thanks Mike." As she squeezed my cheeks.

By the corner of the window I saw the stranger again and I stared at her blankly, as I slowly remembered someone.

"Who is she Jewel? She looks so familiar."

Jewel turned around and looked behind her.
