Amnesia

Chapter 25- Symptoms

After witnessing Isabel leaving in the airport, I decided to go home and wanted to cry like a freaking baby, but didn't, I wanted to stand stronger knowing Isabel isn't here anymore, despite her not seeing me, she will always remember me.

As I was walking down the street to find a taxi, I got hit by a random car and hit my head on the hood of it, which gave me a bad headache, I continued to find a taxi as the driver said sorry to me, when suddenly,

*BEEP**BEEP*

From: Jewel

"So how did it go Mike? Wait, don't tell it to me yet, Im coming to your place in a while, I want to here it personally." 3:23

To: Jewel

"Ok, Ill get ready then." 3:25

I arrived home after that, took a bath, ate some chips then fixed the house.

A few minutes later Jewel finally arrived, with my favorite meal, Fried Chicken, but I had a weird feeling in my head as she arrived.

"Hi Mike, Ive brought your favorite meal! I know you like it." Jewel hurriedly handed it to me.

"Wh,- Who are you?" I asked.

"Uhmm, its me, Jewel, your uhmm, Princess?" She answered.

"I-, I don't know you." As my head started to hurt.

"Stop joking Mike, whats wrong you look kinda drained."

"Oh, sorry, I just had a bad headache." As I slowly remembered everything.

"For a second there, I thought you were having Amnesia." Jewel joked.

"The heck? Just because Isabel left Im now having Amnesia?" I joked too.

"Im sorry, come on, eat your meal, I know you haven't even eaten your Brunch yet, look at you, all thin and skinny, and tell me what happened earlier." As Jewel pointed the meal in the table and asked.

After finishing the meal, Jewel wanted me to tell her what happened, but it seemed like, I forgot, like, I didn't remember anything about earlier, then I remember everything again.

I told Jewel about how I cried and sobbed while I was at the airport, she laughed at me for crying but she knew those tears were for a friend, a close friend.

A few hours later, Jewel decided to go home, we usually do our goodbyes after she starts to leave, then that feeling came back again, I forgot about how we did our goodbyes.

"Goodbye Mike, take care, I love you." Jewel waved.

"Bye..,?" As I blankly answered back.

"Whats wrong Mike?" Jewel wondered.

"Nothing, Goodbye." I answered without any idea, that, I forgot about Jewel is leaving.

Jewel then left with a wave while riding the motorcycle, I tried to lay down the sofa after that and I stared blankly at the wall, in that wall, I saw memories of mine going in reverse, from what happened earlier that day, to the day I met Jewel, then I tried to fight the feeling I continuously had since I got hit by the car, then, I remembered everything.

The next day Jewel and I went to the mall, I felt fine after that night, we strolled around, looking at cool shirt designs, shoes, and even food.

We stopped by the Jewelry shop and I asked Jewel,

"Jewel, if I were to marry you, which ring would you want?" I curiously asked.

"Anything, besides, its just a ring, it doesn't define how we love each other, its our hearts and feelings that tell us." She answered.

"Ill buy you this ring then." I pointed the earring.

"What, you're gonna buy me an earring?" As Jewel was surprised.

"What? Oh sorry, I pointed the earring? I meant this one." As the feeling came back.

"Are you really ok Mike? You're acting weird since yesterday, are you sick or something?" Jewel wondered.

"Nothing, wait, Ill be back, I need to wash my face for a while in the Comfort Room." I answered.

I was in the room, all alone, I washed my face and stared at the mirror, I saw Isabel in the mirror, she was happy, and the scene changed to the moment when we had our goodbyes, but, I, I didn't remember what that scene was about, then I slightly remembered, I wanted to hold Isabel, but then, the scene started to get smokey, the scene started to burn in ashes,

"Mike, Mike!" ????

"Mike, psst, you've been staring at the mirror for 5 minutes lets go." As I realized it was Jewel calling me.

"Ugh, I don't feel well, I might need some rest for a while, lets go home Isabel."

"Isabel? Its me Jewel. Seems like you really are sick Mike, you keep on FORGETTING about things, especially me." Jewel answered.

"Oh, sorry." As my head started to ease the pain I was experiencing.

Later that night, I couldn't sleep, something was annoying me, but there wasn't "something" or "someone" in my room, I tried to find the switch to turn on the lights but I couldn't find it, I called mom if where it was,

"Mom! Where is the switch for the lights in my room?" I asked.

"Its beside your table Mike, you've been living in that room for years, and you FORGOT where the switch was?" My mom answered.

"Sorry mom, I was just a bit sleepy." I replied.

I turned on the lights, I went to the bathroom and stared at the mirror, again, the scene I saw earlier in the mall continued, it felt like a memory trying to be erased, as the scene started to shrink a lot more to the cap where Isabel was smiling, then the scene burned in ashes and disappeared..

After a few seconds I FORGOT about the time I said goodbye to Isabel, I didn't remember anything, even a simple moment, none, I FORGOT everything during the day Isabel left.

I wondered,

"Whats happening to me? Why do I feel like I FORGOT something, it feels like that "something" seemed like it was important." I told myself.
