Chapter 3- Closer Bonds

"Heyyyy Mike!" She shouted.

"What is it Jewel?" I replied

"Austin and I are friends again, but not that close than we used to be. Isnt that good news?"

I was frightened to hear what she said knowing they might end up together again

"Thats great! But be careful alright? If he ever hurts you again tell me, okay?"

"Sure Mike! You're always there for me!"

"Cmon Ill buy you some food while its recess" I stated.

It was the end of class and I wanted to give Jewel a ride home after school, but it seems her mom had already fetched her,

"Its ok, she'll be fine" I said to myself.

After a few minutes I saw Austin, staring at me as if I did something horribly wrong to him.

He shouted with his finger pointed at my direction,

"Hey!"

I shouted back "What?!"

"What are you doing to Jewel?!" He asked .

"What are you talking about Austin? I didn't do nothing at all" I replied.

"If you ever touch Jewel, just watch out" He stated then left.

I wasn't scared at all as long as its for Jewel. Later that night I got on Facebook and luckily she was online. I chatted,

To: Jewel

"Hey whatcha doing Jewel?" 8:02

Seen!! Typing. And aha!

From: Jewel

"Just scrolling down my newsfeed and listening to music, and you, Mike? :)" 8:03

Hmmm

To: Jewel

"Well I'm chatting with a real princess right now" 8:04

From: Jewel

"Really? Who?! How?!" 8:05

To: Jewel

"Its you" 8:06

From: Jewel

"Awwww thanks Mike, you're the best, you know what to say to make me giggle" 8:07

To: Jewel

"Its almost my bedtime see you tomorrow, Jewel! Goodnight!" 8:08

From: Jewel

"Goodnight." 8:09

But her status went offline, as soon as I received her message. I might as well sleep too.

The next day at school she was absent and I didn't know why. I texted her why she was not in school today, she replied

"Im sick, Im sorry if we couldn't hang out today, Mike." 8:23

"Its fine Jewel, Get well soon." 8:24

"Thanks, Mike." 8:25

It was recess when a student comes up to me and asked

"Is Jewel your girlfriend?" She asked

"What?! of course not what made you say that?"

"You've been together with her ever since they fought with my brother "

"What? Austin is your older brother?"

"Yeah." She answered blankly.

"No, sorry shes not my girlfriend shes just my frie- best friend"

"Oh okay." She said, flipped her hair, and left.

WOW

"Even Austin's sister is part of my life now" I told myself I better be careful not to break Jewels trust and lose her forever. I should tighten our bonds much more closer so I wont lose her.
