Chapter 14- Now I know

To: Jewel

"What is it about?" 3:26

From: Jewel

"I cant tell you, and I need to sleep, bye." 3:28

The next day I tried to find Kate and ask what the problem was all about, whether is was for a good or bad cause.

"Kate, tell me everything I need to know." I asked

"Ok fine, first Jewel had a problem with one guy at school that was flirting with her but that guy already has a girlfriend and to make it worse his girlfriend thought Jewel was the one flirting with that "guy" but that "guy" likes Jewel.

"Go on.."

"And remember the day at HighSchool Week when you and Jewel were going upstairs? And her classmates laughed? They started rumors again of you and her being her boyfriend, then to add it up, you changed your profile picture of you and her together which drew so much attention."

"So, its my fault?"

"No, Jewel wanted me to tell you everything but she wants you to know the reason behind why shes not talking,replying to you."

"Do you know where she is?"

"She didn't go to school today but she wants you to text her later."

"But can you tell me who was that "guy" you told me?"

"Sorry no, I cant tell you it would just cause much more problems if you knew who that guy was."

"Is it Austin."

"No its not, Austin already found his own girlfriend."

"I see, well I better head out for now see ya later and thanks for telling me everything." As I left.

Later that afternoon I decided to text Jewel that Kate had told me everything I need to know about the problem she was enduring, all I need to know now is why isn't she talking to me lately.

To: Jewel

"Hey Jewel, I now know why you're not talking to me anymore, I understand, Kate told me everything but what was the reason behind you not talking to me?" 4:23

She still wasn't replying to my texts so I decided to take a nap for a while but I turned the volume to max if she would reply.

A few hours later I woke up and realized its already 8 in the evening and I didn't even hear the sound of my phone ringing. When I checked it out she actually replied 5 minutes before I took a nap, 4 hours ago?!

So I quickly read what she replied, and this was the exact message she sent me.

From: Jewel

"Niggs, I already know you know the reason why Im not talking to you anymore, I really have to do it cause if I don't, Ill be the one who is going to be hurt, we still buddies but I cant really be that close with you anymore, really sorry, I was a bit pissed about the pic because people are commenting and I don't want them to think or give malice about us. Im sorry but you cant chat with me anymore, and text too, so so sorry, I hope you wont turn your back against me niggs. Thanks for understanding, don't reply anymore." 4:28

That was it, she officially ended it, how could you be buddies if you cant talk or text to one another anymore?

But what I still don't understand is that why would she be the one to get hurt?

So I decided to ask Kate about further details, again.

To: Kate

"Kate, Jewel told me everything but why would she be the one to get hurt?" 9:13

From: Kate

"It was a typo she meant that you will be the one who'll get hurt, shes doing everything to protect you, shes avoiding you because she doesn't want the "guy" to hurt you, thats why shes risking your relationship just to protect you, you should understand Mike, shes giving it her all just to protect you, just like the time you protected her, and now shes the one who is going to do the same to you." 9:21

All this time, she was just returning the favor, this time, shes the one protecting me, but why couldn't she just told me everything before?

Its not that hard to be honest, even though I know shes trying to protect me but it really hurts deep inside of her not telling me the truth, shes my best friend, why cant she just tell it to me as early as she can?
