Chapter 13- Kate's Birthday

After HighSchool Week the day after was Kate's birthday and were all invited to her party at Flow.

Everyone was invited, including Jewel, I wanted to ask her if there was really a problem, sadly even though Jewel is coming, Isabel couldn't. She wasn't allowed to go on parties because her parents are protective on her and I cant argue about that.

I arrived at the party and inside were my friends and Kate was there too, looking normal as natural with her unique taste of fashion and her parents assisting her with their guests.

"Hey Mike, take a seat Joshua,John and Vince are over there, heres a glass of Vodka too while you're at it" After handling me the Vodka.

"Vodka? Aren't we too young for that?" I asked

"Its not really Vodka silly, its just Tanduay Ice." She answers.

"Oh, okay I thought you were trying to get everyone drunk." I jokingly replied.

"Ohh and Mike, when Jewel arrives hand her this plate, so she could feel special for you giving her her plate."

"Okay."

I sat beside my friends and I was a bit paranoid on whoever comes inside the door thinking it might be Jewel.

"Hey Mike, hows Jewel?" Vince asks.

"Oh shes fine, did you know she was coming?"

"Yeah I heard, whats that plate for?"

"Im gonna give her this when the party starts and if were gonna eat already." I explained.

"Oh I see, good luck on that bro, lucks on you I hope."

After a few minutes the party starts and Kate's dad kicks off the party with his sense of humor.

"You guys ready for the party?! You guys ready to go wild?!" Kate's dad shouts.

Everyone says yes and they start to line up to get some food when I noticed someone coming inside. I stopped to look at it and I was surprised it was Jewel.

I bet you're wondering why am I so paranoid about Jewel and I feel kinda nervous of her coming here. Its because I that Jewel hasn't been replying on all of my texts ever since HighSchool Week.

"Mike, Jewel is over there! Hand her the plate I gave you." Kate uttered.

"Hey Jewel, uhmm, heres a plate for your food."

"Thanks Mike."

The party gets more louder after everyone finishes eating and to make it much more weird is that Kate tells me to dance Talk Dirty in front of the stage where everyone could see.

I was a bit shy but I was actually just showing off, I danced my soul out on the stage but as I ended, I saw Jewel wasn't even paying attention on what I was doing. I approached her and ask if there was something wrong.

"Jewel is everything okay?"

"Yea everything's fine."

Something caught my attention on how dry Jewel was talking and we cant even have at least 10 seconds of a conversation.

"Why weren't you replying on my texts?" I asked.

"I didn't have load. Sorry."

I knew she was lying because I borrowed Kate's phone earlier and I read Jewels Group Message on how she wants somebody to Beep My Phone or in short BMP which means text or talk to her.

"I see, are you having fun in the party?" I asked.

"Its ok I guess." She answers.

I think I was annoying her too much already so I just hung out with my friends during the party.

Its been 3 hours and everyone seemed to start going home and Kate, Jewel and I were left. I wanted to talk to her but she seemed kinda annoyed so I just sat and do nothing. Absolutely nothing.

"Mike why aren't you talking to Jewel? This is your chance I can give you some alone time to talk to her ya know?"

"I cant, she seems upset with something and I don't want to annoy her."

"Yea she kinda is."

"Wait you know?!"

"Duuh Im, her best friend right?"

"Why is she upset? Is it about me?"

"Cant tell you but yeah its about you."

"Aw, its okay, Ill just avoid her then."

Half an hour later I decided to go home and before I wanted to go home I wanted to hug Jewel behind the back so badly but it didn't happen because she was really upset and I know its about me thats making her upset.

So I just told her that Im going home.

"Jewel, Im going home see ya on Monday."

"Okay, bye."

Not a single Be Careful or a hug was heard and felt that night so I texted her as I started coming home.

To: Jewel

"Hey is there something wrong?" 11:23

I waited and waited until..

*BEEP**BEEP*

From: Jewel

"Yes, its you." 3:23

Yup those were the words she texted and here comes the problem again.
