*Finale Result Show Part 2*
*Brittany's POV*
As soon as our fathers finished singing, we immediately ran backstage, hoping to run into them. Unfortunately, they disappeared before we could get there. Defeated, the girls and I walked to the dressing room, waiting for us to be called to the stage. Thankfully we went to commercial break right after our fathers performed, so we have a little bit more time before we find out the results.
"So, girls, what'd you think of that performance?" Simon said happily as he entered the dressing room. He immediately took a seat on a chair that was on the opposite side of the room.
"I think I can speak for all of us when I say that we have so many questions that need answers?" I told Simon.
"And I bet most of those questions are about your fathers. Am I right?" He asked.
"Yup." We all replied in unison, popping the 'p'.
"Well, than, I'm sorry, but you are just going to have to wait until the show is over. Once the show is over, we can all sit down and discuss what is on all of your minds." Simon replied.
"But-" Lexi started, but was immediately interrupted by a crew member.
"Sorry to interrupt, but the show is about to come back. Simon you need to get back out there. Girls there are a couple more guest performances before the results, so you can just stay here and relax for now." The crew member explained before walking out.
"Well girls, I'll see you in a little bit." Simon told us before leaving the room.
"UGH!" Bailey screamed in frustration.
What is happening tonight?
*One Hour Later*
So it has been one hour and pretty much all of the guest performances have gone. I know what you are probably thinking, 'An hour has past and you still haven't received the results?' Well the show is running a little later than normal because it is the finale. The girls and I are nervously pacing back and fourth in the dressing room at this very moment. We were nervous before about the results, but now we have our fathers and that performance on our minds. So now we are overthinking everything.
The girls and I continued to pace back and fourth when a crew member came in.
"Girls, it's time." Was all the crew member said before walking out.
"I can honestly say that this is the most nervous I have ever been since we started this show." I said to no one in particular as we left the dressing room and headed in the direction of the stage.
"I can agree." Lexi said.
As we walked out on stage, Simon was standing there waiting for us with a big smile on his face.
"This is it girls. This is what we have been waiting for all season." Simon said excitedly.
"I think I might throw up." Bailey said with a nervous look on your face.
"Oh don't worry. You girls worked hard all season. Whether you win or not, you are very talented singers and I am sure all your fans won't let you go that easy." Simon told us with a slight smile, leaving us confused.
"EVERYONE PLACES! THIRTY SECONDS!" A crew member yelled to everyone on stage.
Everyone quickly took their places and waited for the show to come back on the air. Soon enough the crew member was yelling at us that we were back on the air.
"Welcome back ladies and gentlemen. This is the moment you have all been waiting for. The final results." The host said to the crowd.
The host continued to talk, but I wasn't really listening. I am too nervous. What if we don't win? What is going to happen when we reunite with our fathers after the show? What is going to happen with The Next Direction after the show? All of these questions and so little answers.
"And now for your results." I heard the host say, shaking me from my thoughts.
Well, here goes nothing.
"And the winner of this season of X Factor is..." The host said, giving a dramatic pause.
Really? A dramatic pause? Just get on with it. The dramatic pause is making me more nervous.
"THE NEXT DIRECTION!" The host yelled as confetti shot out on us and the crowd went wild.
I stood here frozen in my spot. Did he just say The Next Direction? I was soon shaken from my thoughts when the girls brought it in for a group hug as they excitedly jumping up and down screaming. Soon I was joining them in the celebration as Simon stood there smiling at us as he clapped along with the rest of the crowd. And I swear when I took a glance at the crowd as I celebrated with the girls, I could see our fathers jumping up and down, cheering along. And I swear I saw tears streaming down their faces. We definitely need to have a discussion with our parents because I am all sorts of confused.
