Hi, my name is Alexis Tomlinson, but all my friends call me Lexi. I am 17 years old and I am a senior at a high school in London, England. I have four best friends, Brittany Styles, Katey Horan, Bailey Malik, and Julie Payne. We have been best friends ever since we started middle school. I know, crazy. We do everything together and share everything with each other. Well, almost everything. I haven't really told them that my passion is to sing and that I would want to be a famous singer. Heck, I haven't even told my parents that I want to become a singer as my future career. I don't even know if they even listen to music. I swear mom listens to music in private, but never in front of everyone else, which I think is really weird. As for dad, I don't think he's ever listened to a single song in his entire life. We never really talk about it, but I have a feeling that dad doesn't like music at all and anything that comes along with it. Whenever I try to watch the X Factor when him and mom are home, he always comes in and changes it and stays to watch TV until he's sure it's over. At least that's what I think anyway. That's why I started watching it on my laptop. Granted I have to wait until the upload the episode to the website, which isn't until the next day, but it's fine. I usually watch it with headphones in so I don't get caught.

Anyway, no one knows this, especially not the girls, but I'm auditioning for the X Factor tomorrow. I've already got this all planned out. The auditions aren't that far from my house, so I was thinking of just taking a taxi to the venue. I told my parents that I was going to be spending the day at Julie's. I know it's wrong to lie to them and I know how much trouble I would be in if they caught me sneaking off to some audition. But I don't even know if I'm going to make it through to the next round. So if I don't have make it through, they never have to know. If I do make it through, than I'm going to try keep it a secret for as long as I can before mom and dad find out and force me out of the competition.

"ALEXIS! LET"S GO! YOU"RE GOING TO BE LATE FOR SCHOOL!" I heard my dad call from the bottom of the stairs.

Well, I guess that's my cue. Cross your fingers everything goes as planned.
