*Katey's POV*

"Anyway, we should probably continue on with the song." Bailey told the crowd and the crowd cheered loudly.

"But before we do that we have one more little surprise to tell our fathers." Brittany said with excitement.

"Dad and the rest of my fathers bandmates, we just wanted to let you know that tonight is a very special night. Not only do we know that you were in a band named One Direction many years ago, but we filled the audience with One Direction fans from not only around the country, but around the world. We love you and this one is for you." I told our fathers as the crowd cheered loudly as the music started playing around the arena. And at that moment, even with a quick glance at the front row, I knew my father was sobbing.

A few seconds after I stopped speaking, the music started playing and soon enough we were all singing along.

"[Julie]

As we sang, the images of our fathers from the years they were in the band until the present played behind us on the screen and I couldn't help but smile as we sang.

"[Julie]

A moment later we finished up the song and the crowd was immediately on their feet, as for the judges and the entire crew working in the arena tonight. Everyone had tears in their eyes as they cheered loudly, We smiled widely from the reaction we received from everyone in the arena. And everyone cheered and applauded us, Lexi immediately came up with an idea. Probably stealing it from one of the videos we watched of our fathers in the past week.

"I'm Alexis Tomlinson" Lexi yelled and Bailey and the rest o the girls soon caught on.

"I'm Bailey Malik"

"I'm Julie Payne"

"I'm Katey Horan"

"I'm Brittany Styles"

"And we're The Next Direction" We all yelled in unison, which caused the crowd to cheer even louder.

After a few moments, the crowd finally died down and the judges were finally able to speak.

"Ladies, I don't even know what to say. I was crying from your little speech in the beginning to the very end of that song. I knew your fathers back in the day and it warms my heart that you did that all for them. I know for a fact that they haven't seen each other in years, so it is heart warming to me that you brought them all out here to watch you perform and to reunite them. I know that you ladies are truly best friends, just as they were best of friends back in the day. You girls were truly amazing. Great job girls." Ed told us as he wiped away his tears.

"Yeah, I don't know what to say either. That was unbelievable. Had me crying start to finish. I'm glad that you finally were able to perform in front of your parents, even if they were here last week. You girls were incredible. You should be proud of yourselves. I know I am." Sam said, also wiping away his tears.

"Girls, I have been working with you all week. All the way to dress rehearsals in fact. And I don't know why, but, though I hear you perform this song over a dozen times in the past week, this performance really got me. I cried the entire time. I don't know whether it was the fact that you added the speech at the beginning or just the fact that you have been waiting for this moment the entire season. I was truly moved. I am very proud of you girls. And I know that your fathers are very proud of you too. Trust me, I've known them a long time." Simon said with a few stray tears running down his face.

"Thank you!" We said to the judges in unison with huge smiles on our face.

Soon enough the host was out on stage, his face showing that he was clearly crying backstage.

"Wow, girls, that was amazing. I don't think there was a dry eye in sight. What made you decide to choose that song?" The host asked us.

"Well, first of all, it is one of our fathers songs." Bailey stated.

"And second of all, we just thought the lyrics really connected with our situation." Brittany stated.

"How so?" He asked.

"Well, ever since the girls and I were little, we could see that our fathers were in a dark place, even though they were trying to hide it. We knew music had something to do with it, but we weren't quite sure how. We just knew that did not like anything to do with music or the music industry, especially the X Factor. So when we learned about One Direction and how they ended things, it all made sense." I explained.

"We just wanted to let them know that we would be there for them to help them move past whatever is bothering them. Whatever it is, we want to help in the best way we can." Lexi added.

"Well, I think they know because I was watching them the entire performance and they were sobbing." The host said and we just smiled in response.

After another moment, the host finally let us go back stage with the other contestant. And soon after that the show ended and we finally were able to go back to our hotel. I know what you must be thinking. 'Aren't you reuniting with your fathers?' Well to answer your question, no, we're not. At least not tonight anyway. Simon thinks it's best if we hold off reuniting with our fathers until after tomorrow's result show. Hopefully our fathers won't be too mad when we meet up with them after the show tomorrow.
