Chapter 33

**Author's Note!**

That last chapter was SO LONG OML, but this one should be short-er- and sweet! In case you wanted to know, or care, my coach was really happy with my progress today and hinted about letting me go competitive soon! Also, my layback spin is improving really well, and you can never understand how happy I am!!  On a not so fun note, bad news, not with me or with this story but with Yuri!!! On Ice, Ice Adolescence. By the way, the date this chapter was written on is 9/8/19, and the movie's announcement was posted on 9/6/19, for any future viewers to avoid confusion. Victor's POV 1st Person

"Are you sure he's ready to leave?" Yuri asks again and I roll my eyes, it's been four days since I fell and today I can finally go home. I take his hand from my lowered position in the wheelchair per the hospital's policy, and he turns to me, still looking worried.

"You've asked him that five times," I say, and smile at his overprotectiveness, "The doctor said I can leave today, stop trying to talk him out of it, I'm fine!" Said doctor glances between us and laughs, 

"You're both wrong." He says and we turn back to him, surprised, "Victor, you are most definitely not 'fine' and Yuri, he will eventually be fine, so yes, he can leave." Yuri blushes and nods, then looks to me innocently, 

"See, I was just checking, I'm not a psycho, I just wanted to make sure." I shake my head slightly and after signing a few discharge papers, I'm free to go. Yuri wheels me out of the building and once I regain my feet with the help of some crutches, returns the chair to the nurse waiting in the lobby. We make our way to the car which waits in the 5-minute parking zone out front and I notice that every thirty seconds or so Yuri glances toward me.  

"What?" I ask, amused, as I shove the crutches in the back seat and carefully walk the two steps to get into the passenger side without any aid. Yuri doesn't seem to hear me but watches intently until I'm safely buckled in with the door shut and no risk of injury. I decide to let the question go unanswered, knowing exactly what Yuri's thinking. My suspicions are confirmed when he drives home at 5 miles an hour, eliciting annoyed honks from other drivers. By the time we finally pull into the driveway, which feels like an hour later, Yuri has glanced at me so often he appears to have a twitch. Immediately he jumps out of the car and runs around to the other side, grabbing the crutches from the back as he goes. 

"Be careful!" He warns as he reluctantly steps back after being waved away to watch me shut the car door and hop forward. Hop? Walk? I don't know, crutch forward. "It's icy and if you fall again it could be really bad!" I just smile and shake my head, he starts walking slowly in front of me, trying not to go too fast so I don't get left behind. We're halfway to the door when Yuri glances back to check on me for the umpteenth time while taking a step simultaneously. His foot lands on a patch of the ice he warned me about earlier and it flies out from under him, he falls flat on his back, looking up at the sky. I move into his eye line and grin down at him,

"Yeah, that ice, it sure is dangerous." Yuri glares at me and picks himself up, he regards the ice in front of him with the utmost caution and leads me in wide path around its edge. It's funny, for professional figure skaters we find this natural ice incredibly unwanted. 

"We'll have to put salt down," Yuri murmurs to himself as he unlocks the door, swinging it open to allow me in, "I'll run out to the store later and get some, I just thought we had longer before this started,"
