Yuri's POV 3rd Person Omniscient
"Victor! Are you ready yet?" Yuri called into the bathroom of their shared hotel room, they were going to the banquet that was held every year after the Grand Prix Finals, and they were going to be late. "Hurry up!" Yuri called again without hearing an answer the first time. He checked his watch, the Banquet started at 7 and it was 6:50, while it was held only downstairs in one of the hotel ballrooms and the journey wasn't far they should really be early. After all all of their sponsors and judges, not to mention the skaters and coaches were down there waiting and they shouldn't be rude and keep them waiting. "It's 6:52 Victor!!" Yuri called anxiously into the small restroom. He hated being late.
"Coming, coming" Victor said smoothly as he glided cheerfully out of the small room. "I was always late to mine you know, it was fine! No one noticed or cared!" He sat on the trundle bed to put on his shoes.
Yuri rolled his eyes "A. they did notice, B. they did care, and C. you could get away with that then because you were Victor Nikiforov, god of the ice! I however, am not."
"Well, I still am 'Victor Nikiforov, god of the ice' my identity hasn't changed since I became a coach" said Victor reassuringly while at the same time secretly over the moon about being called a god by Yuri. "If you're with me you're good."
"Victor! Everything has changed! Can't you see that? You're no longer the heart throb famous figure skater now you're plain old boring coach, no one gives them the time of day, and you know it." Yuri said, exasperated with Victor's hopeless unrealistic innocence, it made him crazy, but it was also so cute. Yuri flushed pink as he thought this and turned away so Victor wouldn't see, checking the time again. "Oh my god, Victor it's 6:57, let's go NOW!" and with one shoe only partially on Victor was dragged by the neck tie out the door, into the hallway, and down the stairs.
"Ow! Ow, ow! Victor yelped as Yuri pulled him down the 4 flights of stairs to the ballroom where the banquet was just starting. Why couldn't we have just taken the elevator?" Victor whined as he straightened his tie and looked daggers at Yuri "Now my shoe's entirely off." He grumbled to himself as he bent down to replace it on his foot. Yuri looked down at him and could only see the top of his head. He placed one finger on the small patch of thinning hair atop Victor's head where he had twice before. Upon feeling his touch Victor smiled and lifted his hand to his lips. Yuri smiled and didn't flush pink.

Inside the banquet hall Yuri and Victor were immediately swarmed by fans, friends, and the media, or at least Victor was. "Victor! Victor!" They called as one "Have you started on next season's programs yet? Are you and Yuri doing doubles skating as well? Are you two still living together now the season's over? Hey! What are those rings you're both wearing? Are you two engaged?!" At the sight of the press and the bombardment of their questions Yuri froze, he hated that about the banquet, so much attention.
Victor squeezed Yuri's hand reassuringly and stepped slightly in front of him and began answering their frenzied questions, Yuri smiled, he was in his element.
"Yes, I've put some thought into both Yuri's and my next programs, we may do doubles skating, we haven't discussed it. Yes our living arrangements will stay the same as I am currently a paying customer at his family's hot springs-inn, which you should visit by the way, it's called Yutopia. As for these rings they're promise rings that symbolize our bond, and no, we are not engaged, but yes we are in a relationship. If that's all I'd appreciate it if we could go find some of our friends."
Yuri's heart skipped a beat, what did Victor just say? "We are not engaged, but yes we are in a relationship."?! They hadn't even been on a date yet and Victor had already announced that they were a couple on live TV? He hadn't told anyone yet, not even Phichit knew. Yuri hadn't thought he was ready to start telling people about them yet- but now he guessed they'd have to.
As Victor led him away from the throng of fans a young face appeared in Yuri's view.
"Yuri!!!" Minami squealed excitedly, the young fanboy was a popular skater too, but hadn't made it to the Grand Prix Finals, though he was quite talented. "I can't believe you're here too! How cool is that? Oh my god it was so amazing watching you perform yesterday!! I was in the front row and I will never forget seeing that! I still can't believe you didn't win! You were so close too! By a .12th of a point you got silver? That's ridiculous, I mean Yurio's good and all, but-"
"I AM NOT YURIO!" A voice yelled from across the hall, and sure enough there was an angry blond teenager attached to it. "Stop calling me that! I refuse to answer to that damn name! It's foul and degrading, and I hate it!" He fumed, this little speech was accompanied by a tirade of Russian but thankfully Yuri couldn't make out too much of what he knew would be swear words. Minami looked stunned, it seemed as though he'd not encountered Yurio before this and it was an unpleasant surprise to say the least. "And I am better than that damn pork cutlet bowl, you'd better believe I earned that win!" Yurio snapped at poor Minami, who at this, seemed to snap out of his trance.
"Well, Yuri's still a better skater! And he's nicer to his fans! You only won by .12! That's nothing! Sheer dumb luck!" Minami stumbled out, it was apparent that he would not back down and let his idol be spoken badly of. Yurio opened his mouth to retaliate but Victor quickly intervened, Yuri was glad too, because while they were within two years of the same age, and Yurio was the younger of the two, things could've gotten ugly. With Yurio's tendency to kick things he didn't like and Minami's will to defend Yuri's honor it wouldn't have been good for either skater if things continued.
"Both Yuris are excellent skaters and there is no need for an argument. Minami subdued immediately and melted into the crowd out of shame from being told off by the world's previous top skater. But Yurio tossed Victor a resentful look and stormed off to where Otabek stood by the drinks table with a few choice Russian swears thrown over his shoulder. Yuri caught him mutter to Otabek "That damn old geezer. Acts like he's still the top skater. But he's not. I am." Yuri flinched at those words, but accepted them, Yurio wasn't wrong, he won the Final and therefore the title as world's best.
"Thanks Victor" Yuri said gratefully, "I'm useless when it comes to fans and Yurio, let alone both."
Victor smiled back at him "You're never useless."
Yuri's next comment about Victor's careless reveal melted on his lips. Oh well, the world would've found out eventually anyway right? Who cares, as long as he's got Victor.
