Bismillah-ir-Rahman-ir-Rahim.
In the Name of Allâh, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful. All the praises and thanks be to Allâh, the Lord of the 'Alamîn . The Only Owner of the Day of Recompense. You (Alone) we worship, and You (Alone) we ask for help. Guide us to the Straight Way. The Way of those on whom You have bestowed Your Grace , not (the way) of those who earned Your Anger, nor of those who went astray .
____________26: (Al-Shu'ara')- The Poets
(The Poets)No. 26, (revealed at Mecca)227 verses in 11 sections
This holy Surah consists of two hundred and twenty seven verses. It has been revealed in Mecca and, next to Surah Al-Baqarah, and it contains the largest number of verses in comparison with other Suras of the Qur'an.
Through four verses at the end of this Surah, faithful poets have been admired while the poets who compose some vain poems have been reproached, and that is why this holy Surah has been entitled Shu'ara', and its other name is Ta Sin Mim.
There has come the biography of some prophets in this Surah, such as Moses, Abraham, Noah, Lut, Salih, Hud, and Shu'ayb (Jethro), as well as the pertinacious conflicts of people against them.
At the end of each biography of these prophets, the Qur'an says:
"Verily in that there is a sign, but most of them do not believe.""And verily, your Lord certainly is He, the Mighty, the Merciful."
And, therefore, this verse has been repeated eight times in order to sooth the Prophet of Islam (S)and to tell him not to be afraid of the pertinacity of the people of Mecca since all prophets had encountered some people like them.
Yes, historical events are the best means for strengthening the believers' spirits, promoting the insight, tolerance, and a planning for struggling against the enemies' threats in the future. That is why the leaders of the society must be aware of the history of the society.

Virtues
The holy Prophet of Islam (S) said:
"One who reads this Surah will not get sunk and his home will be save from burglary and fire; and one who writes this Surah on a paper and mixes it with water and drinks it, all his diseases may be healed by Allah."

Benefits
In the commentary of Burhan it is narrated from Imam Ja'far as-Sadiq that whoever recites the three Tawaseen (ie. the three Surahs beginning with Ta-Seen) on every Thursday night, will be counted from the Awliyaa-ullah (friends of Allah) and will be under the protection of Allah (S.w.T.). The reward for reciting this Surah is so great that when the person sees the reward he has gotten from it (on the Day of Judgement) he will be pleased.
The Holy Prophet (S) said that the one who recites this Surah will come out of his grave reciting the Shahadah or Kalimah, bearing witness in the Oneness of Allah (S.w.T.). Reciting Surah ash-Shu'ara at dawn is compared to the recitation of all the heavenly books that have been revealed. Frequent recitation of this Surah ensures protection from thieves and from death by drowning or being burnt. Drinking water in which this Surah was dissolved protects one from all types of ailments.

Summary
This Surah was revealed in Makkah, and it has 228 verses including verse 'bismillahir-rahmanir-rahim'.Surah begins with muqatte'at. 'seen' is used the first time as muqat'tea. 'ta' means Taiyyab (good), 'seen' means Samee (all-Hearing), 'meem' is for Aleem (all-Knowing).At the end of previous Surah, it was told that when human cuts his relation from Allah the Exalted, by denying faculty of prayers, various spiritual diseases seize him.As an example of it, those nations are mentioned who denied prayers and were treated accordingly. The appearance of divine attributes 'al-azizur-rahim' (Dominant/Honoured and Repeated-Merciful) in the end of mention of those denying-nation signifies that Allah being al-Rahim, gave them repeated opportunities so that they should repent. They continued denying the truth, Allah kept coming with new mercy.Repetition of 'al-aziz' shows, deniers of Allah tried to humiliate Prophets, but al-Aziz Allah granted eternal honor to Prophets. After that, Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) is asked to warn near-relatives, and lower wings of mercy on spiritual-relatives. If deniers insist on denying, announce: I am displeased by your disbelief, my trust is on Allah only Who is Dominant, Wise, Repeatedly-Merciful, Acceptor of prayers and All-Knowing.Satans cannot come to Prophets, because Prophets are neither 'affak' (liars) nor 'atheem' (sinful). People living around them are witness to their truthfulness.Words of Allah to Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) has great aspect that it has the flavor of poetry. Due to the eloquence of the Quran, many poets gave up saying poetry. But it should not be thought that Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) was a poet too because a poet wanders in each 'valley' but Holy Quran is not such a Book which wanders in each 'valley' uselessly. Those Muslim poets are declared exception, who believe and do good deeds and remember Allah abundantly. When they were oppressed they retaliated. Here those Muslims poets are meant who retaliated with poetry when evil poets of disbelievers used profanity against Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be on him).

Brief commentary and background
This Surah has 227 verses divided into 11 Rukus/Sections. This Surah was revealed in Mecca and according to traditions it revealed after Surah Taha which revealed almost six to seven years before 's migration to Yathrib (Madina) at a time when the opposition of Meccans turned from verbal accusations and abuse to physical and socio-economic torture and bans. This is the time when many migrated to nearby country of Abyssinia. As already discussed Surah Taha revealed just before Umar bin Khattab's conversion to Islam.
The Messenger of God (PBUH) said: One who recites this Surah will have 10 rewards according to the number of believing men and women and he will come of his grave calling: "There is no but Allah,"
Like other Surahs revealed in Mecca, we find the emphasis on monotheism or the Oneness of God. The primary subject of the Surah is divine supervision and guidance. It narrates the stories of many past prophets their to their people and that the with which Muhammad has come is from God.
The central theme is the refutation of shirk/ with God and emphasizes that God has created this whole , God's majesty reflected in the natural wonders of and in numerous signs in the world, in history and in man's own self. It admonishes disbelievers for rejecting Quran and Muhammad and tells that signs are of two kinds the one in natural wonders of creation and the others are in history and in the End of old nations (i.e Punishment of God). So it is their whether they ponder on God's signs all around and accept and surrender to the or reject and would wait for God's wrath.

Hadith
*Hadith on tawhid: The prophet cannot protect his relatives from allah:
Aisha reported: When the verse was revealed, "Warn your tribe and nearest kindred," (26:214), the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, stood upon mount Safa and he said, "O Fatima, daughter of Muhammad! O Safiya, daughter of Abdul Muttalib! O sons of Abdul Muttalib! I have no power at all to protect you from Allah. Ask me for some of my property, as you wish."
