Bismillah-ir-Rahman-ir-Rahim.

In the Name of Allâh, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful. All the praises and thanks be to Allâh, the Lord of the 'Alamîn . The Only Owner of the Day of Recompense. You (Alone) we worship, and You (Alone) we ask for help. Guide us to the Straight Way. The Way of those on whom You have bestowed Your Grace , not (the way) of those who earned Your Anger, nor of those who went astray .

34: (Saba')- Sheba

(The Saba)No. 34 (Revealed at Mecca)

54 Verses in 6 Sections

Sūra Sabaʾ (Arabic: سورة سبأ) is the thirty forth surah of the quran. It is a makki surah located in juz  twenty two. This sura is named Saba' because it contains the history of the people of saba. It is one of the five suras of the Qur'an which begin with the praise of god. Different issues are discussed in this sura, all of which can be categorized under three general titles of the unity of god, prophethood and resurrection.

Verse twenty two about inercession and verse twenty eight about prophethood for all are two of the famous verses of this sura. The consonance of the mountains and birds with prophet david (a), his armor-making, arm flood in the gardens of Saba', jinns' servitude to solomon (a) and his control of the wind are among historical stories of this sura.

Feature of the surah

This Surah has been revealed at Mecca, and contains fifty four verses. For the explanation of the people of Saba mentioned in this Surah, it has been called Saba and, like other Meccan suras, most expressions of it are about ideological issues, and the Origin and the End (Hereafter) in particular.

In the story of Solomon, of course, and his encounter with the people of Saba, a part of the Divine bounties and the end of the thankful believers and disbelievers are pointed out.

Lessons

Satan has taken a vow to mislead mankind, as Allah informs us, saying what means: "[Satan] said: 'By your might, I will surely mislead them all. Except, among them, Your chosen servants.'" [Quran 38: 82-83] Satan was not certain of what he would do, because he could not have been; this is due to the fact that what would happen in the future was something of the unknown and unseen for him, and thus it was merely an assumption on his part. The people of Saba' in general are amongst those for whom Satan's assumption came true, and they indeed followed his way. On the other hand, there was a group of them who did not follow Satan, and these were thus included in the exception mentioned in the abovementioned verses of Chapter Saad.
