Bismillah-ir-Rahman-ir-Rahim.
In the Name of Allâh, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful. All the praises and thanks be to Allâh, the Lord of the 'Alamîn . The Only Owner of the Day of Recompense. You (Alone) we worship, and You (Alone) we ask for help. Guide us to the Straight Way. The Way of those on whom You have bestowed Your Grace , not (the way) of those who earned Your Anger, nor of those who went astray .
____________30: (Al-Sajdah)- Prostration
(The Adoration)
No. 32 (Revealed at Mecca)
30 Verses in 3 Sections
Sūra al-Sajda (Arabic: سورة السجدة) or Alif-Lām-Mīm al-Sajda (Arabic: ألـــم السجدة) or Alif-Lām-Mīm al-Tanzīl (Arabic: ألـــم تنزيل), is the thirty second surah of the quran. It is a makki sura located in the twenty first thereof.
Since it is obligatory to prostrate or go to sajda upon hearing its verse fifteen, it came to be called "al-Sajda" (prostration). Themes of the sura include resurrection, the creation of the being in six periods of time, and the creation of the humans from soil. It warns deniers of resurrections about punishment, and it notes that will receive a reward unimaginable by any human being.
Verses sixteen and eighteen of the sura were revealed aboutamir al-mu'minin (a) . About the virtues of reciting the sura, it is said that a person who recites it on eves of fridays will receive the record of hid actions with his right hand, will be forgiven, and will be a friend of muhammed (s) and his family.
It was called Surat Al-Sajdah because of the description of the believers who worship Allah and praise Him when they hear the verses of the Great Qur'an: {Only those believe in Our verses who, when they are reminded by them, fall down in prostration and exalt [Allah] with praise of their Lord, and they are not arrogant.} (Al-Sajdah: 15)
___
Feature of the surah
This Surah is one of 29 Suras that begin with abbreviated letters and after which the Qur'an is glorified.
It is one of the four Suras of Qur'an which contain obligatory prostration. According to the tradition recorded in Majma'-ul-Bayan, the holy Prophet (S) used to recite this Surah and Surah Al-Mulk every night before sleeping.
Similar to other Meccan Suras, there are some almost detailed explanations about Origin and Resurrection in this Surah, too. The end of the disbelievers is also mentioned in it, in order that the faith of the believers and their steadfastness against the pressure of the enemies would be strengthened.
To perform bowing and prostration at night, when people are asleep, is mentioned as one of the specialities of the true believers pointed out in verse No. 25, the recitation of which needs obligatory prostration.
___
Benefits
There are 30 verses in this Surah and it was revealed in Makkah. Some scholars say that the 19th, 20th and 21st ayaat of this Surah are 'madani'. In the commentary of Burhan it is narrated from the Holy Prophet (S) that the reward for reciting Surah as-Sajdah and Surah al-Mulk is the same as what reward is gotten if one spends the entire night of Qadr in worship. It is said that the Holy Prophet (S) used to recite these Surahs before sleeping.
