Bismillah-ir-Rahman-ir-Rahim.

In the Name of Allâh, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful. All the praises and thanks be to Allâh, the Lord of the 'Alamîn . The Only Owner of the Day of Recompense. You (Alone) we worship, and You (Alone) we ask for help. Guide us to the Straight Way. The Way of those on whom You have bestowed Your Grace , not (the way) of those who earned Your Anger, nor of those who went astray .

73: (Al-Muzzammil)- The Wrapped One

(The One Wrapped in Garment)Section (juz') 29Number of Verses: 20

Sūra al-Muzzammil (Arabic: سورة المزّمّل) is the seventy third sura of the quran in the traditional order of compilation and one of the first suras of the Qur'an which was revealed to the prophet muhammad (s). It is a makki sura (it was revealed in mecca), and one of the mufassalat suras of the Qur'an. It consists of twenty . The sura is called so because the Prophet (s) is addressed as "al-Muzzammil" in its first . The main topics of this sura include: calling the Prophet (s) and other muslims  to worship god at nights, recite the Qur'an, and be patient with unbelievers.

The blessed Chapter, revealed in Mecca, has twenty Verses. The tone of the Chapter clearly reflects its similarities to other Meccan Chapters. The majority of the blessed Verses of the Chapter in question indicate that when the Noble Prophet (S) had declared his Prophetic call, his opponents rose to confront and belie him. Thus, the Noble Prophet (S) was Divinely commanded to show tolerance to them.

The occasion of the Revelation of the blessed Chapter is reflected in some of the traditions according to which upon receiving the earliest of the Revelations, he was stood in awe. He came to Khadija, complained from physical discomfort and rested for a while.

He bade his wife to wrap him in a garment when Gabriel revealed the blessed Verse

"O you wrapped in garment!"

unto him.

According to a Prophetic tradition:

"Whoever recites Surah al-Muzzammil, he will not face hardships in this world and the Hereafter."

Other traditions have been narrated concerning the recitation of the blessed Chapter, though for the sake of brevity, mention is not herein made of them. It is worthy of note, however, that such merits and blessings are dependent upon acting upon religious obligations.

Benefits

There are 20 ayaat in this Surah and it was revealed in Makkah. Some scholars say that it was revealed in Madinah. It is narrated from the Holy Prophet (S) that a person who recites this Surah will never face bad times. The person who recites it in the Isha or Tahajjud prayers always remains pure of heart and even dies while he is in a pure state.

Imam Ja'far as-Sadiq (a.s.) said that a person who recites this Surah properly will get a chance to meet the Holy Prophet (S) and if he prays for something from Allah (S.w.T.) he will get it. Reciting Surah al-Muzammil a hundred times on Thursday night leads to the forgiving of a hundred major sins and procures a hundred rewards. Recitation of this Surah protects one from insanity and from being a slave to people.
