My friends and I decided instead of having a party or going to a haunted house for Halloween that we would tell scary stories around a campfire. I began with a story that my grandmother had shared with me only it was not a made-up story. I did not tell my friends that it was true because I did not want to scare them too much.
"My grandmother had been watching television when the doorbell rang. She went to answer it knowing that the kids were out trick-or-treating. She opened the door to a young boy. She told him that she would go get him some candy from a bowl she had in the kitchen.
