XVII-Inconsolable

Author POV

"Hey, boss" a male's voice said after the enormous doors were opened. "I have a letter addressed to you--"

"Please, Elise-chan! Only this dress!~" The Port Mafia's boss said as the male that turned out to be Chuuya had an irk mark on his face

"Rintarou, I said no!" The blonde girl said before Chuuya coughed awkwardly

"Ah, Chuuya-kun" Mori said as he got up from the floor. "You said something about a letter?"

"Yeah... Here" Chuuya muttered, handing his boss a letter, wanting to leave that place faster

After the doors were closed, Mori turned to his desk, taking out a small knife to cut open the letter as he sat down, Elise looking like the curious child she is from behind his hand.

"Strange..." Mori muttered before the letter was opened

Mori-kun,

I don't have much time left and I'm sure of it. The faster I leave this world, the faster you can do what you always wanted. I'll always regret the fact that I'm not the one that will tell her the truth, but our sort of contract gave me no choice of acting independently.

I hope everything will go well for you and don't forget to tell her everything.

But most importantly, tell her that I will always love her.

And that was the whole letter, besides Mori's name, there was none.

The letter itself seemed to make Mori have a devious smile plastered on his face as he folded the paper, hiding it in one of the drawers of his desk before he rested his head on top of his hands.

"It seems that glorious days are coming" he chuckled a little. "Don't you think, Elise-chan?"

In a few more minutes, in the office of the boss of the Mafia was standinng Chuuya, once again, waiting for any new orders that needed to come from the man in front of him.

"Chuuya-kun"

"Yes?"

"I have a new mission for you"

"And that mission is?"

"This package" Mori said as he pushed a little a box that was on his desk. "I need you to take it and only at my signal, you're going to give it to her. Understood?"

"Understood" said Chuuya as he took the box

"And no peeking~"

Evening
At the A.D.A.

"So, how was your first day here?" You asked as the white haired girl followed you outside of the building of the A.D.A.

"It was fun!" She exclaimed. "Everyone is so much fun and unique!"

"Oh? Is that so?" You chuckled softly at Hana's excitement. "What can you tell me about them from your point of view?"

"Well... I'll start with Kenji-kun since he was the one who welcomed me" she started as you two walked on the not too crowded streets. "Kenji-kun is a really nice and sweet kid. I loved his stories about his family and his life before coming in the city. Tanizaki-san and Naomi-san are nice people as well, leaving aside the... special sibling relationship they have. Ranpo-san is a little bit of an asshole, to be honest, but he's fun to be with. Oh and I learned something from trying to have a bite from his precious sweets"
