chapter 19: My Lost Soul
I tried to push myself up, but as I did I fell down again clutching at my chest.
"Aragorn!" I screamed and a hand was placed on my shoulder. It was Kili. I looked up at him, and he just shook his head. I knew exactly what he meant, and wasn't a good thing at all. I felt a tear come down my cheek and fall onto the floor. I looked down at the floor sadly knowing I had failed at getting my father back. Anger flooded through myself but it soon was replaced by sadness and nervousness. "What happened?"
"We found you on the ground asleep and met some um... friends. Listen... your father is... well.." he looked at me and I understood what he was saying.
"He's gone," I whispered and all he did was nodded. Suddenly remembering something I pushed myself onto my feet and looked over at Brother Falspar. "Where is she?"
"Follow me," he said in an urgent voice. He started running out of T.M's lair with me quickly at his heels.
After about 15 minutes of pure running we reached a field where many people were gathered in a circle. I ran towards the middle of the circle knowing what was going on. Suddenly something wrapped around my leg and pulled me to the ground. About 10 feet back standing there was T.M holding my father by his arm. He had stretched his sticky arm (I am talking about T.M) to me and wrapped it around my leg. It was expanding around me really fast and in about a minute had covered one of my legs and half of the other. I tried to scream but as if someone had stolen my voice, I couldn't speak at all no matter how hard I tried. Looking at the sky I noticed that it was around 11:30. I only had a half hour to deal with this guy. Struggling I realized that I had lost feeling all down my back. It was completely covered in tar. I thrust my arms forward grabbing at anything to tery to escape, but my hands were grabbed and pulled against my side where they were covered in tar. The tar was creeping up my neck and I could feel the breath leaving my body as the tar slowly made its way above my head and headed towards my lips. Before it made it I let out a weak help. With that my body got covered completely in tar.
-Third person POV-
"No! SAPPHIRE!" Aragorn screamed as T.m retracted his hand bringing the cocoon that Sapphire now lay in with it. He seemed to disconnect his hand from the tar cocoon and Aragorn watched in horror as his daughter's struggles grew weak against the cocoon of tar. "Falspar!"
Falspar turned around as fast as lightning at the sound of Aragorn's voice. He ran as fast as he could sword drawn and ran at T.M who quickly whipped out of the way letting go of Aragorn. Before either could react Falspar made a cut in Aragorn's arm. Aragorn didn't seem to mind though, he just ran towards the now still cocoon.
"Sapphire? Sapphire!" tears came flowing from his eyes as he noticed that no movement meant no breath and no breath... you know what that means. Falspar came to his side and put his hand on Aragorn's shoulder.
"She's gone" Falspar whispered. They sat there looking at the cocoon that Sapphire was stuck in... dying in. Suddenly a burst of light came through it and they both backed up shielding their eyes. Slowly the light began to dim and they saw a figure in the middle... it was Sapphire. Her blonde hair now carried red streaks across it and instead of a bare neck she now wore a silver necklace that read "Believe".
-Sapphire's POV-
My struggling had no effect against the cocoon I was now wrapped up in and I started to feel my consciousness fade. My eyes lids fall over my eyes making my world dark and cold. Suddenly everything seemed to be pulled off of me and I opened my eyes to see what was going on. I was back in headquarters and there was a large crowd gathered around a large table in the middle of the room that I had never noticed before. I walked towards everyone and tried to communicate.
"Dad? Legolas? Thor? Mom? Kili?" I went up to everyone calling there name, but I seemed completely invisible to everyone around me. Confused I walked over to the table to see what the commotion was. I walked forward and found myself lying dead on the table. It was my worst nightmare all over again. "No... NO!" I pounded my fist up against the wall next to me and the whole room trembled, and still people didn't notice.
"Sapphire," a voice said behind me, and I noticed Faris with her hand rested on her shoulder standing behind me. I was pulled out of my nightmare and into a white room, the room I was in before I got brought back before.
"That was me... i'm dying" I said looking down at the ground. She took her hand off of my shoulder and lifted up my chin.
"Only if you believe it" she said smiling. I looked away angrily and sadly at the same time.
"What if I don't want to go back!" I snapped looking back at her with a growl rumbling deep in my throat. It stopped and I turned away crying. "No one would care. At least I would be with someone that loves me..."
"That is NOT true! They all love you! Your father! Your mother! Everyone! How could you give up just like that?!" she screamed at the top of her lungs making there whole room shake. I couldn't hold it anymore out of anger and sadness I screamed as loud as ever.
"Because i'm AFRAID!" I screamed crying and sinking onto my knees. I knew that everyone thought I wasn't afraid of anything... but I was. I looked off at the nonexistent door and yearned to walk through it, and to be embraced by Joseph... and yet that wasn't going to happen, was it?
"I know. This is not the answer though. I am sorry, I am going to send you back. I promised to protect you and I am going to stick with that promise... this might be the last time you see me though. I shall give my soul in place of yours, and you won't be able to ever be the same. Your appearance will change and your personality will as well to fit with mine slightly. I'm sorry, Sapphire. Good-bye" She lifted her hands up and I knew what was going on.
"No! Faris NO!" my scream was drown out as I was ripped back into the real world.
