Chapter 40: Good bye
Derek, Kili, and Sapphire tumbled through the doors of hell just as they closed. Sapphire groaned and stood up shakily, her wings shaking loose feathers off, this world gave her her strength back. She was called to battle by the shrieks and screams coming from her home.
"They're under attack!" she starts to run, trying to fly, Kili and Derek at her heels. As she takes off, Derek grabs Kili and follows her. She watched in terror as she looked down and saw her friends falling one by one, she screamed as she saw her father, fighting to save them, get stabbed and fall to the ground, dying. Her aura became pure white with rage and magic and her eyes went pure white as well, she started mumbling under her breathe, "Et mittens illos in domum tueri memoriae carminibus et obfirmatis sera, nuntioque misso ad eos qui vitas. I hereby banish the evil magic to be locked away as long as the white magic is lost)"
Her aura washed across the land as tears fell down her cheeks and she slowly landed on the ground lying down. Kili fell into her arms, they were both dying. Derek landed beside them.
"Wh-what's happening...?"
"I'm... saving... them..." she looks up at him "Th-thank you for everything, now live..."
As she raised her hand and stroked him across the cheek, he took his last breathe and fell backwards. She looked down at Kili as he died and smiled sweetly, he looked scared, and she stroked his hair, wrapping him in her wings.
"It won't hurt," she whispers and kisses his lips softly. When she pulls back, his eyes are closed and his chest is still. She looks out across the field and sees her friends vanishing back to their own stories and to their new lives, and the Bads being thrown to their cages in their stories. She smiles across the land weakly. "I did it..."
With that, she takes a final breathe and her body falls. One arm around Kili, her wings spread out, legs splayed underneath him, his body curled on her, and Derek's body neatly laying above her head. Everything was in perfect harmony, perfect silence...
