[Barry]
That morning, Barry went out to breakfast with Caitlin and Oliver and invited everyone along so he could be a part of the group.
"So you guys are roommates."
Barry glanced at Caitlin. "Yeah. We are."
"And you're just friends?"
Caitlin nodded. "Just friends."
Patty was the first to join them, and then Jessica and Felicity, Cisco, and Finn. Natalie was at Barry and Caitlin's dorm, and hasn't said anything to Caitlin yet. Simone still hadn't spoken to Caitlin or Barry or anyone else for that matter.
"So, the reason I brought you all here is because I wanted you to meet Oliver. He lives across from Jessica and Felicity. I thought he could be apart of our little group."
Patty was the first to agree. "I don't see why not. The more the merrier."
The others agreed and Oliver hit it off with Cisco as the two started to talk a lot. Felicity bit her lip and Jessica started to whisper to her, which caused her to stop.
"I think it's great that Oliver is here."
Barry glanced at Caitlin. "You think so?"
"Yeah. He seems like a nice guy. And I think Felicity likes him. She keeps looking at him."
"You do too."
Caitlin rolled her eyes with a smile. "He has nice eyes."
"And I don't?" Barry held a hand to his heart. "You wound me, Cait."
"His eyes are nicer."
"Maybe I'll change my eyes to blue then. Then you'll like them."
Caitlin shook her head as the two shared a small laugh. Oliver was watching the two and shook his head.
"You guys are together."
Oliver's statement caused a whole discussion about the two of them.
"Wait. Is he serious?"
"When were you going to tell us?"
Barry shook his head as Caitlin playfully glared at Oliver.
"We're not together, Oliver. We told you that we're just friends and roommates. That's it."
"Yes, I'm sure."
"Oliver is the newest member on the SS Snowbarry."
Barry and Caitlin both glanced at Cisco.
"The what?"
"It's our thing for you guys. I'm obviously the captain."
"I think I should be the captain."
Cisco scoffed at Jessica. "Says who."
"Says me."
They all were discussing about who should be the captain and co-captain which kind of amused Barry and Caitlin, only because they knew they were just friends.
Or at least that's what they told themselves.
[Caitlin]
After breakfast, they all went either back to their dorms or to class. Barry and Caitlin walked to her class after saying goodbye to everyone.
"Have you spoken to Natalie?"
"Yeah, I have actually. On Monday, I talked to her about what she said to you and I told her I didn't like it. She also thinks we're together. Or at least that we should be. She thought I spent the night there."
Caitlin was silent and Barry noticed.
"Are you okay, Cait?"
Caitlin nodded and Barry turned her body to face him.
"Cait, what's wrong? Talk to me."
"I just don't want to face her yet. But I know I have to."
"You do. She's your sister and family is family. You'll have to talk to her eventually."
Caitlin sighed. "I know."
As they continued to walk, Barry grabbed Caitlin's hand and she smiled. Once they got to her class, Barry pulled her closer and pressed his lips against her forehead.
[I miss Scallison]
"It'll be okay. You fix your relationship with her."
'And with you too?'
Caitlin's inner voice was back.
where have you been?
'Judging you from afar. You both need to go to that Halloween party.'
why
'because it can bring you two closer. trust me. You need to go. Ask him. NOW.'
"Are you going to the Halloween party?" Caitlin found herself asking and wasn't able to stop herself.
"Maybe. Are you?"
"Yeah." Caitlin's inner voice was obviously not holding back. "You should come with me. We can go together."
Barry raised his eyebrows. "Really? You wanna go together?"
Caitlin nodded. "Yeah."
"Okay. I'll go with you."
"Perfect."
Barry grinned at her. "Bye Cait."
"Bye Barry."
As Caitlin watched Barry leave, her inner voice spoke out.
'you've got a daaate.'
shut up
'I'll take that as a "you're welcome." Because of me, you've got a date to the party.'
And even though Caitlin tried her hardest not to smile, she was excited.
