[Narrator]
About a week had passed since Christmas and it was New Year's Eve. You've probably guessed that Caitlin and Barry were all romantic and stuff, which is true. Cisco and Simone have been romantic also, and Natalie and Kai are beginning to show feelings for one another. That morning, Natalie and Caitlin went over to their mother's house and gave her a huge hug when they saw her.
"Happy New Years, mom."
"Thank you. I'm glad you came by."
They all went to the living room, and Carla turned to Natalie. "I didn't want to bring this up during Christmas, but your father went up to the school and asked for you, but you weren't in their system. Are you not going to school?"
Natalie sighed. "No, I went up because I wanted to register, but also because I knew Caitlin was there. I'm sorry."
"Don't be. It makes me happy that you wanted to be with her, and that you at least are going to be in school."
"She's majoring in music."
Carla smiled. "Then I want to be the first to have your autograph."
"What else did he say?"
"He's furious. I told him to get lost and to not see any of us again because he was just saying awful things about you two. He's not fond of Caitlin or Thomas, and since Natalie's not in school, he's not fond of that either."
"We don't need him. We have each other."
"Caitlin has a boyfriend."
Carla glanced at Caitlin. "Is it Barry?"
Caitlin nodded as Natalie gave her a look.
"You knew?"
"I've been knowing. Ever since he got us to talk at his house, I knew he liked you."
"Natalie has a crush on someone."
The door opened and was slammed shut as Carla continued.
"Well, who is it? When do I get to meet him?"
Before Natalie could reply, a voice spoke out.
"Isn't this nice?"
They glanced over to find Hunter with a glare in his eyes.
"Hunter, I thought I told you not to come here anymore."
"I saw them come inside. So I'm here to take her away."
"I don't want you to touch me."
Hunter glanced at his daughter. "You'd rather stay here with the bitch who doesn't love you, or your father who will love you endlessly?"
"If you really loved me, then you wouldn't hurt Caitlin."
"I'm not hurting her if it's the truth. If she deserves it."
Caitlin took out her phone and messaged Barry her address and told him to hurry. Hunter grabbed Natalie's arm forcefully and began to drag her toward the door.
"No! You're not taking my daughter."
"She's my daughter too and I'm taking her!"
Natalie tried to pull out of his grip, but the more she protested, the harder he pulled on her. Caitlin was waiting for Barry to show up at any moment, and when he did, he wasn't alone. He was with Kai and Finn, and they all got Natalie out of Hunter's grip. Kai immediately went to Natalie as Barry and Finn tried to hold Hunter down. Kai called the police and minutes later, they took Hunter away and they all sighed in relief.
Barry went to Caitlin in a rush and kissed her deeply. "Are you okay?"
"I'm okay. Thank you for coming."
"I'll always come to your rescue."

Later that day, everyone went back to Barry's home, including Carla. They all spend New Years Eve together and Barry went to get fireworks with the guys for the countdown.
Once it got dark outside, they all set up chairs outside and began to countdown once it was 11:59
"10."
"9."
"8."
"7."
"6."
"5."
"4."
"3."
"2."
Barry glanced at Caitlin. "I can't wait to spend this new year with you. I love you."
"1."
"I love you, too."
Barry and Caitlin shared a kiss, while everyone else did too, and Natalie gave her mom a hug and a kiss on the cheek.
It was an interesting year, but they were all together and were starting the year with each other
It was the best way to end and start the year
"HAPPY NEW YEAR!"
