[Narrator]
Caitlin was furious
First, Natalie had explained to Barry and Caitlin what her father had said. No matter what, Caitlin would find a way to save her sister.
Second, Barry still hadn't said anything about the kiss Caitlin saw between him and Blaire
Both had broken her heart, but both got under her skin.
Caitlin was currently at the cafeteria, trying to eat breakfast as Ronnie sat across from her.
"Are you okay? You haven't touched your food."
Caitlin's eyes met his and she sighed. "I'm sorry. It's just been a rough time for me. Family problems and stuff."
"Well, if you ever need to get away from it all, I'll be here."
Caitlin gave him a genuine smile. "Thank you."
Caitlin tried her best not to think about her problems for the rest of the day, but it was no use. She didn't know how to help her sister, and her brain wouldn't shut up unless she found a way to help. She decided to skip the rest of her classes and headed back her dorm where Barry was coming out of the bathroom.
"Cait, what are you doing here?"
She shook her head and sat on her bed. "I can't do this."
Barry took a seat next to her. "What do you mean?"
"I don't know how to help my sister. I feel so helpless."
Caitlin put her head in her hands and Barry placed his arm around her.
"You, Caitlin, are not helpless. You're the most helpful person I know. And I know that you'll find a way to help Natalie. When it comes to the people you acre about, I know you'll always find a way."
Caitlin forgot about the kiss between him and Blaire as she pressed her lips to his. Barry always knew how to make her feel better. It was one the things she liked about him. He rested his forehead against hers as he gave her one final kiss.
"We'll get through this. Together."
He lifted his head to look at her and cupped her cheek. "Okay?"
She covered his hand with hers. "Okay."
Her eyes casted down to his bare torso and he glanced down also.
"I guess now we've both seen each other bare chested."
Her cheeks heated up and she tried to look down but Barry's hand prevented her.
"You're beautiful, Cait."
.
.
.
During Christmas break, Oliver had made it his mission to get closer to Felicity. And considering that they both didn't want to go home during the break, you could say that it worked.
They both were currently staring at each other in the hall of their dorms' and both were silent.
"Hi, Felicity."
"Hi, Oliver."
He walked over to her and gave her a hug. She returned it and nuzzled her face into his neck. They held each other tight for the next couple of minutes, which had become their thing. He let her go and gave her a smile.
"What?"
"Nothing. I just like looking at you."
Felicity smiled at him before she started to walk off.
"Felicity."
She stopped and turned to look at him as he approached her.
"I'll see you later, right?"
"I mean, we live across from each other. It's kind of inevitable. But yes. I will see you later."
After saying goodbye, Felicity walked off and she headed to her last class of the day. As she was headed there, she came across someone who she recognized as Natalie, Caitlin's sister.
"Hey, Natalie, are you okay?"
She shook her head tearfully. "No. Everything's a mess."
Felicity sat next to her and Natalie spilled everything to her. When she stopped, Felicity held her tight as she cried.
"Natalie, you'll find a way. And your dad is awful. I'm sorry, but it's true. But maybe you should take a walk, try to relax."
Natalie nodded, and after thanking her, she headed on a walk and tried her best to relax. She headed inside a building and continued to walk, but stopped when she heard a piano playing from inside a room down the hall.
She peered inside and saw a guy sitting in front of a piano playing the same melody over and over again. He sighed and stopped playing, which caused Natalie to speak up.
"That was really good."
The guy was startled and accidentally pressed some piano keys as he turned around.
"Sorry. I didn't mean to scare you. I just heard you playing while I was trying to relax myself."
"Did that work? Relaxing yourself?"
Natalie shook her head. "Not at all."
"When I'm trying to relax, or just clear my head, I play piano. It helps, and it's helped me get through everything. I wrote this song not too long ago and it's the only thing that is helping me right now."
Natalie took a seat next to him and looked at the sheet. She skimmed over the lyrics and then turned to him.
"This is really good. Can I hear it?"
He nodded and began to play it. She loved his voice and she joined in as well, feeling tears escape as she thought about everything. Once they finished, he pulled her close and held her.
"It's okay. We'll get through this."
"Thank you."
They let go of each other and she wiped her tears.
"I'm sorry. I didn't introduce myself. I'm Natalie."
"I'm Kai."
"Do you think you could teach how to play this song?"
Kai smiled. "Sure."
She spent the rest of that morning and most of the afternoon playing piano with Kai and by nightfall, she went back to Barry and Caitlin's dorm feeling better than earlier.
"Hey, guys."
"Natalie, how are you feeling?"
"Good."
Caitlin and Barry shared a look.
"You're okay?"
Natalie was getting her stuff and Caitlin stopped her
"Natalie."
"I know what I want to major in."
