Caitlin kept her gaze on Barry's eyes as did he. Realizing the position they were in, he let go of her, ruining the moment.
"Are you okay?"
"Yes. Thank you, Barry."
"It was no problem. Bye, Cait."
Barry walked away and left Caitlin standing there by the lake. He was walking toward his class when someone called out to him
"Chico, wait up."
Barry turned to find a girl running to him and realized she was talking to him.
"You're Barry, right? The new guy on the track team?"
Barry nodded. "That's right."
She gave him a smile. "Hola, I'm Lola. Your teammate. Coach told us about you."
"Hi. Nice to meet you."
He accepted the handshake she offered.
"So you're on the team?"
Lola nodded. "Yeah. I love to run. It's in my blood. What about you?"
"Oh, I don't know. Coach saw me running and asked if I wanted to join the team."
"Hm. Maybe you got running in your blood too."
"Maybe. Do you wanna walk with me?"
"Sure. Lead the way."
They continued to talk until they got to his class, where they goodbye.
After his class, he went to Coach Duncan's office to find him with papers on his desk.
"Barry, it's good to see you. Have a seat."
Barry sat down and they began to talk about everything and Coach Duncan gave him all of the information. When Barry was out of the office, he was startled when he saw Lola waiting by the door.
"Lola, hi."
"Hola, I hope you don't mind that I waited for you. And that I followed you."
"I don't mind, but don't you have class?"
"Not right now. Do you?"
"In a little bit."
Before Lola had the chance to reply, a voice called out to them.
"Barry!"
He glanced down the sidewalk to find Patty approaching them.
