Chapter 30

It was late the evening and everyone was just about fine with presents and dinner.
The little kids are asleep and for Auggie.
Well he is still wide awake and ready for the evening to kick off.

"Listen what happened to the songs this year?" Alan asked.
"With Shawn gone we aren't actually in the mood to celebrate Dad," Cory said and Maya looked at him.

She was sitting aside keeping Auggie busy while the grown-ups were talking.
She hated to see that everyone was so down in the dumps all because a funeral over three weeks ago.
Of course even she was still adjusting to everything but sometime everyone needs to move on.

"Okay I'll do something. Guys we have to move on. Around every dark corner there is a silver cloud. We can't mourn forever," Maya said as she picked up the guitar and sat down next to Auggie.
"You gonna sing?" Auggie asked.
"Yeah I am," Maya said as she strummed on the guitar.

"Frost on the bedroom window
Snow falling on the ground
The leaves are gone for winter

"You just go on. How is that even possible?" Cory asked.
"Because I have you guys. Nobody is alone guys. We are not alone. People come and leave. But you have to move on," Maya said.
"I agree. If we are stuck in the past forever we will never be able to move forward," Josh said.
"Of course he'll agree with his girlfriend," Riley said and everyone laughed.

Maya realizes that she isn't alone.
She has everyone she could ever wish for.
But how will she react to change?
Well she'll have to wait and see she guesses.
